I hope there is a surge of veganism in Brazil. The food-production system is catastrophic and unkind there (like here in the EU etc, too). May the love in the hearts of Brazilians extend to all creatures. We need to immediately stop importing Brazilian Soya for animal feed.
@@spiral-m I was praising the activists of the sanctuary, I've edited my comment to make this clear cause, by using 'people', many RUclipsrs must have thought I was implying all Brazilians were animal rescuers and vegetarian or vegan like these amazing activists, which of course is not true, most unfortunately:-)
I must confess that I for one don't call myself vegan for having some minor personal objections to a few 'tenets' of the movement. However, I haven't eaten any sort of meat for over two decades and stopped having the only two dairy products I could still eat 11 years ago, both for the sake of animals (the other dairy, plus eggs, I had already quit consuming out of food intolerance decades before).
I also saved some non humans when I still could afford to, way before I even heard about veganism almost 30 years ago, buying them from small shops who would have killed them for food. Nowadays I wouldn't be able to keep on doing these rescues for both financial and health issues.
I even buy vegan products and support the movement as a whole but I strongly oppose those vegans who criticize and harass those activists who buy animals to save their lives, on allegations that this fosters the animal holocaust. That is tantamount to saying abolitionists shouldn't have bought slaves to save their lives either cause this way they were feeding slavery, which is certainly absurd.
Any person who advocates such an aberration of logic is actually toxic and harmful to the victims of the Animal Holocaust. One just has to put oneself in the position of the poor animals bound to a certain death to know that each and every one of them wants to be saved. Any life spared is already a small 'miracle'.
One cannot wait for the system to change worldwide, something that may never happen, and not save the few lives that may be released from slaughter by buying them if they have the means to do so.
I could tell because my best friend here in Ontario Canada, is from São Paulo Brazil, and she has the same accent. 🤗

I've known people that claim to be this empath nonsense. Almost all of them are wom_n with average IQs and an inability to get a full night's sleep. They are neurotic (read, cr_zy) as f---.
As well, being kind and compassionate is hardly ever without some skewed perspective regarding their expectation of others treating them. I'd love to start an animal rescue but it isn't a viable business in terms of income. I have no idea how I'd run an not for profit, I only get making a product and selling it.

@@KuntaKinteToby I think it is likely a 24-7, year-round responsibility, which makes it hard to go away for even a day. I have fostered many cats and kittens for my local shelter, and when I have kittens especially, I can't do any overnights away (even for business travel). Maybe ask your local shelter about fostering cats, dogs, guinea pigs, and other animals they take in? My shelter looks for people to care for all such animals, and not only for babies, but creatures who are having a hard time adjusting to shelter life, or who have been in the shelter for a long time, or who may have a cold and should not be in the shelter. It is immensely rewarding work.

Even without seeing it, you can really live it yourself with the animals you interact with. Animals tend to gravitate towards you a little more than usual when you're like this and "in tune" so-to-speak.
