Honestly, this is my favourite intro to a film ever. It shows the personalities of Lightning and who appear to be his main rivals (bear in mind Radiator Springs wasnt a thing yet as far as we were concerned) and it captures the atmosphere of the race *perfectly* for example the Mexican Wave. Plus Real Gone is a damn good track to put to this. And of course the 4K remaster looks astonishing 😲
Fun Fact: They were originally going to use “Thunderstruck” By AC/DC for the opening of this film, but due to copyright restrictions and the fact that the band members didn’t allow Pixar to use their music, they used “Real Gone” By Sheryl Crow instead.

You knew it's going to be a great movie when you felt that satisfaction during the race of those cars in the foreground before going black screen again, while McQueen saying "I am speed". Animators really did a good job in there.

I’m not a racing fan, but am I huge NFL fan, this movie nailed the realistic commentators and graphics of the mid-2000s as if it actually aired on TV, the metal clanking sounds as they go through the stats of King, McQueen and Chick Hicks, the emotions given from Cartrip, and the Piston Cup Trophy exploding into bits to cut to the big three racers, makes it look as if you’re actually watching Dinoco 400
Cars has the BEST soundtrack of ANY movie. Real Gone. Life is a Highway. Route 66. Sh-Boom. Our town. It's just stellar discography one after another after another.
I remember this was my 2nd movie going to the cinemas as a child and the main reason why i can never forget this is because of this very intro and the loudness of McQueen ramming his engine echoes throughout the cinema vibrating the seats edged into my memory for rest of my life.

This opening honestly really did feel like you were actually watching a real live NASCAR race to go along with a kickass Sheryl Crow. This movie was made BEFORE disney bought pixar. Disney ruined the franchise with 2 and 3 (which are only good standalone films) Thats why this movie is so good.

Shrek, Madagascar, Pixar's Cars, Open Season, Ice Age, and Kung Fu Panda are some awesome CGI animated Gen Z franchises that I grew up with during my childhood as a kid.
