Don’t expect people like Silver to have some middle ground and prudence with his opinions. For him and other verismo people opera singing did not exist before Caruso. They probably think that Caccini, Tosi, Porpora etc… were irrelevant.

One of his greatest recordings in my opinion. You're joking about the falsetto of course. Unless you're trying to make a point about the vagueness of such stupid terms (i.e. falsetto, head tone, chest voice, vocal cover), in which case I laud you.
Oh really? And how do you know what I mean by falsetto and how it works when singing? You don't know. I did not define it. And it is not "mixed" it is coordinated. The falsetto muscles coordinate with the chest voice muscles. It is *NOT* headvoice. Headvoice is a form of chest whereby the falsetto dominates. That is what women do. Not men, unless they are singing mezza voce or pianissimo.
the "falsetto" you refer to from Magiche Note is not not not falsetto at all it is called voix mix, a mixed voice between the head voice and the chest voice
Not only are you wrong, but you‘re also wrong on the perception thinking that voix mixte is some kind of goal, when in reality, registers should be as clean and isolated as possible and voix mixte should be avoided.
Caruso is the greatest to ever sing this. Others don't even come close. Doesn't even sound like the same aria when others sing it.
Adorado tenor QEPD

Fabulous singing and great sound quality. Thank you.
From the description: "he is the greatest tenor in history". No, the greatest RECORDED tenor.

Grande, grande, grande!!!
Meraviglioso!!! Saluti
INSUPERABILE !!

Marvelous

Sheer magic
I can't agree that Caruso was walked in this earth... This recording is fake. Is a reference that god send for all tenors...
He had the advantage of studying it with the composer. Other tenors are afraid of being accused of copying Caruso!

He does not falsetto in this recording. I copied and pasted that from another recording I posted of Magische notte. There he does falsetto.

A "BIT" better than most other tenors. Melchior had it in his repertoire.
lol Just a huge bit. Melchior was nowhere close to his level.
A huge bit indeed
