Sanctus from Requiem, Op. 9 - 2010 TMEA Texas All-State Mixed Choir

The 2010 Texas All State Mixed Choir and members of the SMU Meadows Symphony Orchestra perform this piece by Maurice Durufle at the 2010 TMEA Convention in San Antonio. This is the top choir in the state, directed by Dr. Kenneth Davis of St. John's College in Santa Fe, NM.

Wow, it's crazy looking back at this video. It's my senior year and I had my final year at all state. It's hard to believe that it's over now. Those experiences throughout the years were so enjoyable. Texas amazes me every year, and to those who say otherwise or hate on us, you haven't had this experience. Remember , people don't like what they don't understand. Apparently Texas understands because we raise the bar every year. I hope I can conduct a choir like this some day.

Back in 1990 we did the entire Duruflé Requiem for TMEA. It was amazing.

Awwwwwe... The Alto 2 part always gets me in the beginning and end. On the "Hosanna"... My ex was a 1st chair alto 2 in 2010 mixed choir, and I always got goosebumps hearing her practice this song along side me.
