- I have begun activities to regenerate trees that have been cut down for various reasons.
All the logs I use are scraps.
In most cases, collect the cuttable pieces and give them to a recycler.
The video shows a scene making a thin stem goblet from a tree branch.
Very advanced design work has been completed, so I'm glad to see it to the end!

Nice shape to this one like the base, bit thicker stem which looks better in my opinion, I know these things are a matter of taste, another fine piece.

The small thing is to get the design, but the risk is great. It seems that the stem of a new tree bends.

ずっと前に観た100年以上前に作られた「風にそよぐグラス」を思い出しました。風が吹くと軸が折れずに揺らぐんですよ。
それに今回の作品が似ていたのです。

それは驚くべき作品で、ガラスで出来ているのもまた職人技です。
完成するか分かりませんが、今月中に風にそよぐグラスに挑戦したいと思います。
具体的には、カップを大きくして軸をさらに細くします。
来週末の動画がたまたま細長いゴブレットですが、それとは別のやつです🍷

Thank you for your comment. I sold some of this work a year ago. However, there are no abnormalities in any tree species. Since it is coated with urethane resin paint, it is stronger than ordinary wood. It doesn't snow much in the area where I live. It is several times a year and the amount is small. But elsewhere, the snow requires a lot of work. I hope you and your family have a good day.🙇🇯🇵

Works that are thinly finished at one time will not break. However, since the base has a risk of cracking, we use a paint that cures in response to moisture as a preventive measure. Greetings from Japan.

Really wish I knew the finish you use. It is shiny without the need to use micro mesh.

Thank you for your comment! We use paint made in Japan that cures in response to moisture. After removing from the lathe, sanding and painting are repeated 5 times. By doing so, even if you do not have painting skills like me, you can complete painting like a professional. This is the method taught by my teacher, so there are various other methods and it may not be the correct answer.🙇🇯🇵

Yamabiko what finish are you wiping on or is that sanding sealer? Winter is almost here in Wisconsin and finishing up with my chores. Then I get to be in my shop turning for the next 6 months..
