Not changing my channel content. This skiff is the same size as my kayak. I will not stop fishing from my kayak. After the honeymoon is over with the micro-skiff there’ll be an even mix of videos from both platforms. I will not alienate the the audience that has helped me to get where I am today.

My experience is that you made a good choice with going with the seadek. It does help a lot with the noise but also with fatigue when fishing all day. Nice little boat Mark.

Great quality in her build.
If I were the designer, I would have moved the aft platform closer to the helm and put a livewell under the companies round logo in it's center area. And a steering wheel on the console. There is enough room for both the steering wheel, and the locator of your choice!
At my age I surely don't need to be standing up on any kind of platform just to pole or sight cast! 😝
All in all, a very nice little skiff! 👍

Mark congratulations on your first boat, good luck with it. Just don't overthink it, get a little time on the water first. I have owned a number of boats over the years and watched people buy all kinds of equipment and gadgets they didn't need. Best advice I can give is to get the state/coastguard required stuff first. Then get used the boat, experience will determine what you you need. This is a big step up from a kayak, I know I fish out of a Outback, but room and added weight is still a major concern. Take your time, it will pay off in the long run.

After a year of this, you’ll move up to a Shoalwater boat?
Funny I was looking at the 19 Cat but when I called them I was shrugged off. So I continued my search and eventually found the HSkiff 13.
Make sure you join some Facebook groups, especially the boat fails groups. When I went from a Hobie to a used ‘99 19’ Shoalwater Stealth, I learned so much just from those pages. You’ll see recommendations for transform savers, lots people say to not attach anything to the trailer. Good luck!

Congrats! I hope it works well for ya. I'm sure it was a good chunk of change. If I ever lived on the coast I'd probably be looking at a square back canoe to turn into a micro skiff...but then again my little 16 ft aluminum bass boat with the 40hp is probably all I'd need too.

The transom savers have holes on the edges of each side that cradle the motor. I used a small bungee around the motor to hold it in place during trips. It worked fine.

Super nice. Whatever you do, pay the extra money for non-ethanol gas for your motor! The gas with ethanol will break down, attract moisture and gum up your carb before you know it.

Very nice. Looks high quality to me. All the videos about it show high speed cruising and hardly holding on, but none show it hitting a boat wake. My 13 foot Boston Whaler Sport will go airborne if I’m going over 20 knots.
I hope I never have to find out the hard way.
This skiff is on my radar I live in Tampa Iam sure they make something you put under the engine lift the engine and should be able to put a motor tot or with the bracket so you won’t have to use the trailer great video thanks for showing us

Congratulations on the new Skiff you might want to buy some trailer guides for your boat it helps you keep the boat on the trailer during windy days you can buy them at Academy for about 75 bucks

Just to let you know, you can put a short piece of two by four parallel with the transom held in place under the motor bracket with a bungee cord as an option. A little tip from cajun land in Louisiana. Good Luck!

Keep a spare prop with you never know when you might need it out there on the water. ( you can spin your prop )

also if you keep the motor vertical and tilt locked it wont bounce around. notice none of the flats boats use transom savers.

Pretty sweet. Top of the line microskiff. I have an 18ft flats boat but if you really want to be serious about flats fishing microskiffs are easier to pole and can basically go anywhere in shallow water. I'd play around with the prop if I was you. See what's most important to you. 3 blade lower pitch might keep the bow up at cruising speed and you might not get as wet. 3 blade high pitch you can get the high speed. And if getting up to a plane really easy when you are in the shallows is important get a 4 blade moderate pitch. Also whatever prop you decide to go with you need to get a stainless steel one. I know they are expensive but the shallow water will eat up that aluminum prop.

Nice skiff looks like you could move the bow stop forward that might allow for a transom saver i think it might pull better also with more of the weight moved forward there is a formula for tongue weight it’s like a percentage of gross weight. A boat this small tongue weight is not really an issue just don’t want trailer to walk back and forth but that is usually cause by having to low of a tongue weight
