@@thetravellershub maybe Aussie comedy is not for me, I mean comedians I enjoy like Andrew Schulz, Bill Burr and Dave Chappelle might not be someone else’s cup of tea. But if you have any recommendations let me know, Ill check them out.
@@kayb402 yeah I mean Chapelle is probably the most popular comedian in the world so he is a lot of people’s cup of tea haha. Aussie comedy (and UK comedy too really) is not all that similar to those US Comedy Store road guys, partially because our touring is different. In the US you can go on the road endlessly and do comedy clubs, so you get 30ish mins of good punchy memorable bits that you often keep doing for years. In Aus and the UK there are only about 5 cities you can perform in (unless you’re a massive comic), so we have the Melbourne festival and Edinburgh in the UK, where a comic does an hour one-person show 25 nights in a row and then never does it again. So the styles are influenced by how they have to perform to make a living. You might like Luke Heggie (check out his bit on Unisex bathrooms from the gala this year) or Damien Power (he has a few good gala spots too) they’re still not the same but probably the closest guys we have to Burr and Schultz etc. We claim Ronny Chieng as well because he started comedy here, he’s opened for Burr a bunch of times so you might like him too. As much as I think Sam Campbell is brilliant he’s very unique and not really indicative of Australian comedy as a whole. Thanks for coming to my TED talk lol
@@kayb402hes not Australias best comedian by a long shot but I found him hilarious because hes personality is of that weird kid in every school and is awesome
I came here after seeing he won the Edinburgh award for comedy this year. Perhaps a lot of what he was saying here was only applicable to Australia. But this Brit didn’t get any of it. Sorry.
I'm Australian... trust me.... this isn't funny even for us. If you want great Australian comedians try Jimeon (okay adopted aussie), Carl Barron or maybe even Kitty Flannigan. Yes they are older acts... but Comedy is officially dead in 2022
@vinyl richie not sure why you’re bringing everyone’s favourite uncle into the debate. I saw this guy do a joke about playing for the Wallabies which I thought was funny. This particular routine… I just didn’t get it. Soz. You’ll get over it.

It's hilarious how when a comedian is quirкy somebody will inevitably bring up James Acaster like he invented quirkiness. Both of them are completely different and have their own fully realised personas. To compare them just because they dont go down the usual route is lazy to say the least
I've just been watching Acaster stuff for the last 6 hours straight. Then I saw this guy... Nah. No no no. No. Nope. This guy is nothing like Acaster. As an Aussie he honestly comes across like a guy who isn't that funny but was told he was by his mum.
"I hope that was alright"
What a way to end a set
Sam Campbell is comedy for the brain-poisoned. I love him so much
One of my FAVES can’t wait to see his show next week. Please god let there be something I can give a respectful bow to.
I don’t want to get yelled at but maybe we can go together?
fucking LOVE that abrupt, half assed end to the set
Sam Campbell is hilarious and super creative. I love him
What an odd delightful set.
“If this is toxic masculinity, poison me to death!” Lol!
Take me now Annubis!
my grocery shop has become a comedy wagon since this.. thank you Sebastian Up and Jeremy Go!!
I think I’ve watched this 10 times in the last 3 weeks. Legend.
Ive been waiting for this to be uploaded. Sam is hilarious!
As a moving man, I can say that's exactly what we're like 😅 The seat between us in the truck is no place for the easily offended.
One of the best comedians in the world rn
All about delivery with this guy. Love it.
Wow reading some negative comments. I think he’s different and hilarious.
So funny Sam, absolute gold!
His full set was ao good
This dude does not give a flip and it's beautiful.
Take me anubis...😂😂
Easily Australia's best comedian
If this is an actual fact, I honestly feel terrible for the country. I know comedy is subjective but this was 🤮

A very funny young man .😂🎉😂🎉
Big finish 😂
He looks like Allday's lost twin
Fucking funny, loved it!!
I like him
Did nobody else turn up to the Edinburgh Fringe?
🐐
Hilarious he's clever
Decent
Laugh? I thought I’d never start.
I thought I was in the minority. I find his delivery and material irritating.
When it's funny, I'll laugh.

Very funny mate I really want you to be successful but be very careful on the way you deliver your jokes because you do sound a lot like Dave Hughes.
He sounds nothing like Hughesy. Let the boy be.
Well done, you've recognised "the joke" and how it can be shared in various and similar ways through different perspectives

This is horrible. Wow. I mean just compare the line up to 2009. What happened? I should do stand up.
This is meant to be funny..I don't understand what the audience is laughing at

Wokeness killed comedy.... can't make a joke now without someone being offended

Go do stand up then. Instead of committing to the pointless act of adding yet another bland complaint on YT.
Well comedy for 6 year olds
His standup isn't as good as when he's in situations with other people, the guys hilarious on taskmaster
Absolutely disagree with this person! One of his specials was one of the most inventive comedy shows I've ever seen!
Guess I'm a 6 year old then, I loved it :D
just poor...
far out this is woeful
This guy has basically just plagiarised James Acaster's whole persona.....but way less funny
You read my mind, inspiration is one thing but the mimicking is too much in some of the jokes
Kind of like James Acaster mixed with Russell Brand.
