I've had people unfriend me on social media for pointing out that they're political "opinions" should be fact check first. Turns out they don't like it when someone disagrees with their opinion or bias.
Unfortunately, as "the historical news source" cites the internet in crazier and crazier ways....therefore the traditional news source and the internet are equal on their levels of absolute truth at this point in my opinion.
She could have edited it down to about three minutes and should have - instead of doing the work that a talk like this called for, I feel like she had her assistant put together a few slides and then decided to wing it. I get that her approach may have been informed by a fear of public speaking like this which is no small feat and I will give her props for Bc I surely wouldn’t want to do it, but this was an assignment that called for a lot more rehearsals in front of people who were also SMEs who could have given her the feedback that she would ideally have used to tighten up her talk in a major way. “Not all fact checkers are created equal apparently’ means what exactly? If they arent, then why are u suggesting more than one? Is one good for certain kinds of facts while another is better for other kinds of facts? Did u just say that not created equal bit as filler? Guessing so just like ur recommendation of multiple fact checkers filled up ur page. In both instances, age of all people should understand the noise this creates and have taken pains to be even more clear and concise than most anyone else giving a talk. I’m annoyed by what just happened here and don’t understand why so many teachers and professors are having students watch it.
Your comment is obsessive but necessary. We seem to have failed as a society in raising media literacy to the point where it's created some of the craziest political events in the last few years.
Shoutout to all my people only watching this because of school assignments.

A year later but yeah 😂

"Information is power"
-also another proverb,...
"Education is the most powerful weapon"
Not true. The most powerfull weapon is still the atomic bomb. Education is the most usefull weapon😉 And even that is dependant on the teacher.
