- This video is a review of the DIY Watch Club 40mm Vintage Diver watch. It is a great watch with a few weaknesses... and LOADS of potential! I have modified the watch THREE times in order to display what can be achieved using this case and crystal as a base.

That final one was really magic - even an extra GMT hand appeared!😅
Thank you Pete. I was also surprised at how much I enjoyed the GMT - and delighted to find that the NH34 movement has enough clearance to fit beneath the crystal.
@@watchmebuildit Haha, cool!
Definitely loved the mil spec hand swap nice job as always my friend Be well and God Bless 👍
Thank you Michael. The encouragement is appreciated.
Your mods look great!
Its strange that this comes with a mineral crystal the specs on their website say the following: Crystal:
"Acrylite 8N specialty vintage high-dome acrylic"
Depending on how the crystal is mounted I have had great success replacing sapphire crystals with Sternkreuz accrylics (ATCT) while maintaining WR for that acrylic vibe.
Don't look down on 100m WR dive watches, in the early days Cousteau and all the SCUBA pioneers used watches with 100m or less and non-click bezels (except for BP who started the unidirectional thing. In fact the ISO standards came in around the mid Nineties, well past the heyday of dive watches as essential bottom timing tools so mostly the ISO certification ironically had zero impact on any watches acually used for that purpose.
@Leec - a super helpful post. Thank you. I may have misunderstood the composition of the crystal. If it is acrylic I should be able to buff out any minor scratches. If that is the case, I owe DWC an apology! Thank you too for your insight regarding specification on WR. You are absolutely on the money, for the purposes of most mortals 100m is more than enough.
Are the dial markers that green normally or are the studio lights just setting off the green lume?
Cool builds 👍
My favourite sub case shape. I like the milsub sub look too.
I tweaked the colour settings on the video for better ‘pop’ but that did upscale the green. It is a great case though. Check out the unboxing video, I think that gives a better look at the colour of the dial
@@watchmebuildit cheers, yeh it's a little more subdued in that one. I quite like the dial as something with a little uniqueness, but great to know there's plenty of mod opinions too
