Imho, he was phenomenal. And very handsome. I wonder why he retired so early (in 29!). And for such short career he changed 5 or 6 theaters. Seems like his way in ballet was very rocky.
reanimato1 btw regarding hungarian dancers do you like ivan nagy? imo he was fabolous l saw him live in bayaderka and was really surprised by his skills .another good was nureyev's friend and classmate in vaganova viktor rona ,l saw in budapest in half 70's and was fabolous too
pediatrapaola I've seen many Hungarian records from 70s and 80s and they really were a great company at this time. And all of the dancers were native Hungarians. But for now they totally lost it. All hight rank positions in the company fulfilled with Russians and Ukrainians. ukrainian ballet told me that lovely Nataliya Matsak were also offered to join this company. But she refused. Unlike Elizavetha Cheprasova. She's in Budapest now.
l saw him in london in his RB period and liked him always very much

Huge crush on him when I saw him in Sleeping Beauty back in the late 90s. He was like ballet’s Keanu Reeves.
