Even after seeing these types of videos over and over, I am still amazed how much is thrown away.
My friend and I found about 60 boxes of chocolate truffles last Saturday night at a dollar general.. there's 4 in each box.we split them up.. I'm using mine to make valentine treat bags for a group of senior ladies.
Oh my goodness, you did absolutely great. But all those products heading for the landfill, so upsetting. It's good quality food all sealed very well and like you say Heather will go way passed their date and stay perfectly fresh how they are packaged. Anyhow so pleased you got what you did and they will know doubt feed some hungry folks. Keep up the good work. 🥰🇬🇧

I have no problem with dates, but recently found out in our area at least, any donated items past date on label gets thrown in trash, especially canned food. Its ridiculous. Thank you for saving from the landfill !!!
Hello, I am a fellow dumpster diver, I haven't dumpster dove for about 3 months, but your pantry box is doing a bad thing, because most cans the best by or expiration dates on the cans, you can use the product for 2 years past that date, so the food they are throwing away in the cans is perfectly good, my family and I eat can goods up to 2 years past the expiration date, and we haven't got sick and were not dead yet, so maybe you can let your pantry people know that they're throwing away really good food, good luck.
Oh I’m sure they know. They don’t care. They know darn good and well people stock pile canned goods for end of days stuff or whatever. Not to mention…they want “shelf stable” which means it won’t go bad on the shelf, right? I don’t understand
That’s not fair. It’s not that they don’t care it’s just they daren’t take a chance of someone getting ill from out of date food. Not only that, people might not accept food out of date.
Just because you can eat food thats out of date doesn’t mean it’s right or safe for everyone else.

These places should be required donate! We have high needs for food donations in Minnesota, we have doubled households who need help, usually we service seniors. We take expired food of 6 months.
Very few ppl worry about Best Buy dates. All u have to do is taste them Dr. Oz says. 🌝👍

Heather, I have a four prong garden rake sort of like yours and I love how great it grabs bags out of the dumpsters. I also have a mini one too.. found them on Amazon of course.

Two things that always gets to me -the amount of food thrown in the trash😟. Yes there are safety and other regulations but still it’s rude to all of the people who made it possible that those food exist and also to nature itself.Second - no recycling…yep I’m on of those people. Good haul and at least some food aren’t being wasted.

Is it ill mannered of me to ask what store you found these at? I am also in Denver and recently started diving for groceries. I never find such hauls.😢 And 75% of the dumpsters are locked anyway.
Could you recommend a good grabber or where you got yours I need to get a better one then the one I have.
I'd be worried that the frozen items in the dumpster may have set inside the store out of the freezer for maybe a couple days before being taken out. I won't take food like that just for that reason.
Thank goodness this wasn't anything frozen. Just cookies and snacks

U should post on fb market this overflowing dumpster of food. I know u don’t want others there, but it’s just a shame others can eat too. At least find a few ppl u can drop bags of food off too in ur neighborhood. Post a fb add for ur neighborhood that u have food donations. Choose a few needy ppl and drop off to them.
