Use new initiative!
Love the system! Can't wait for the one-shot. Though, the creator has updated the rules on initiative: "Villains go first. If no villains present, players go first."
The old system was a lot of work for very little effect, the new one speeds things up!

I've heard from a few people that the OG initiative system was a bit crazy. For the 1 shot we're definitely using the updated version

I was trying to build a dragoon, and it felt like I was missing something. I did a google search and someone mentioned an ability in the Elementalist class called Soaring Strike that perfectly fits dragoon. I never would have thought to look in that class for something like that, but I do really appreciate the flexibility of the character creation system! Maybe next time I’ll try to let the built in classes inspire me instead of trying to create a very specific concept from the start.

There's actually a rare armor that synergies with that build. Also in playtest you can find a Heroic Style called Skyspear Style, which is a thematic Heroic ability that not only uses the Soaring Strike but it has 1 round of not being targetable and a little splash damage from the fall.
