Enjoyed the show, fellas!!! Honestly, I've had enough of the transfer portal. Every podcaster says the same thing, " We need to hit the portal for experienced players." Truth be told, half of the portal transfers haven't lived up to the billing. They're just taking snaps away from young, talented players that need on the field development. It's time for the young bucks to play. Limit the portal transfers to just 3-4 who are absolute needs.
Please explain to me why we need a portal slot WR? This just drives me crazy. We sit here talking about bright school recruiting and Miami has landed multiple slot WRs. Dawson doesn't play more than 1 backup WR the same as he did last year. You have all this young talent, and then here you are saying we need to replace Restrepo's production with a transfer. When do the guys Mario recruited see the field? I'm just sick of the obsession with the portal. There are players on this team waiting to break out if they would just get the opportunity. Instead, they pay big NIL for transfers who are not getting it done. Worse yet, they continue to tske snaps because the top dollar NIL appears to be dictating. I'm sorry to rant, but I've had of enough of the portal when you have top blue chips sitting behind guys playing worse than high school players. Beyond 3-4 transfers at positions of need, I don't want to hear it. We're one cycle away from looking like FSU if our young talent gets fed up and transfers out. Then, you're left with a lineup full of transfers that don't pan out and nothing behind them a la FSU. I'm moving towards the Dabo Sweeny camp. Most of those guys in the portal aren't better than what's on the roster. Rant over. 😊
Well, Ray Ray Joseph hasn't really shown anything at the slot to inspire confidence and most prefer not having to rely on true freshmen. If you have a shot to grab KC Concepcion in the portal you do it. Talent is talent no matter where it comes from. Next year you will see Trader & Carr play plenty but more competition is needed.
