Big props to Cam for being decisive and getting the ball out quickly. Psychologically and physically, that really dampens the opponents pass rush. It showed a great deal of maturity to make that adjustment and answered a question about his coachabiity. So thankful to have Cam on the Canes!

Messidor was a total beast at WV. I literally prayed for the cat to transfer to UM after we played them..and then he did. I've been waiting for that Messidor to return.
Less stunting worked better...the few times we ran stunts yesterday our guys were running around the scrum like headless chickens and had no effect on GT. Once they pinned their ears back and used the blitz instead...great things happened.
I like having a multi-headed monster at the RB position. Lyle will get touches in the remaining games but our Martinez/ Fletcher combo is too good not to utilize. Neither of them are seniors and should be here next year. Lyle comes in and destroys an already worn down defense with his explosiveness. Lyle will be a dude to watch next season too.

It's been like this for UM for their entire time in the ACC. It's a disgrace but it won't stop. The ACC needed UM but hates them at the same time. The N Caroline teams are the chosen one's.
Defense made adjustments. Should permanently be Bain. Barrow Moten and mesidor. Meesh is playing toward the line of scrimmage and Pruitt Alderman and Playing off ball allowed Kiko to play downhill. Very good

Thank God. Great game by the defense! They used the bye week purposefully. Cam Ward on the other hand stayed on "Heismann on the mind mode". He is putting 100% of his arm strength behind ALL passes. That is causing balls to sail (missed JG on a TD & props to JG #3 on climbing the ladder and then hanging on after the hit on another over the middle) Cam is pitching all fastballs & it's causing aiming and not just natural throwing. You can see that with all those balls thrown at receivers feet. He has abandoned the opportunistic scramble when it is given to him. (-5 yds aganst GT) On the ill advised flip attempt to Arroyo, he had no body between him and green grass to the sideline. He elected to flip it against the grain back to the hash mark and got picked. Failed to pass for 300 yards as well. We will need him against SMU and beyond.
We have gotten spoiled listening to Bruce a lot of us better enjoy this year, while we critique Cam, remember last year when TVD threw 10 picks in 4 games so let’s just remember we won the freaking ball game.

Mario and Guidry finally made some changes as most of the fan-base has been asking for and we see the result in a much improved defense and a more balanced performance all in all, reminsiscent of the first game vs Florida. Getting back to the basics of football is the key, along with utilizing the talent to the max. Let's go Canes, win big at Syracuse!
Let's not get too excited. The first half was mediocre at best (and this after two weeks to prepare). The offense was shut out in the third quarter. The Canes were only up by 6 after three quarters - against Wake! I don't think that that first 45 minutes of play quality will stand up against Syracuse or SMU. We need our Q4 play quality in EVERY quarter for ACCCG and CFP success.
If we play a complete game we will score 80 on somebody...it's a scary thought that we have had this much success without firing on all cylinders. I agree with you, in that momentum is very important against good teams. Playing so unevenly has kept us from holding the momentum at times. The GT game is a text book example.
I like the sledge hammer and buzz saw change of pace that they bring sharing the load. Pound defenses early with Fletcher and Martinez...then gash them and knock them out with the explosiveness of Lyle and AJ Allen running on fresh legs. Opposing defenses No Likey. 😉
With all the losses taking place across the country, I think I can see a way for UM to make the playoffs with 2 losses. Beat Syracuse. Clemson loses to S Carolina. SMU beats UM in a highly competitive and entertaining game. They could be a low seeded team.

Ward us a bit overrated. Not a NFL QB. Hold on to the ball way to long. Looks very slow on his reads and throws the ball when he should just throw it away or run with it. Plus he needs to learn to hit the check down. I do not care about all the yards. The canes have a great running game and probably can run every down and score every drive unless a holding penalty but then they pass and stall the drive.
This offense without Cam IS SO Toast. Until Guidry decides to put screen plays to RB and correctly done draw plays Cam will never get to just set back in the pocket and be his magnificent self.

Our front seven is as good as anybody’s out there we got some promising young players in the secondary but for the most part, our secondary isn’t our coordinator needs to play to the strength of the team, which is the front seven quit trying to put linebackers in place of defense alignment or strong safeties in place of defense alignment and run a straight four-man front that’s our strongest position probably on the whole football team and like Bruce says quit getting cute with the past rush and just bull rush these jokers we got the athletes to do that and we dominate when we do

Ward us a bit overrated. Not a NFL QB. Hold on to the ball way to long. Looks very slow on his reads and throws the ball when he should just throw it away or run with it. Plus he needs to learn to hit the check down. I do not care about all the yards. The canes have a great running game and probably can run every down and score every drive unless a holding penalty but then they pass and stall the drive.
This offense without Cam IS SO Toast. Until Guidry decides to put screen plays to RB and correctly done draw plays Cam will never get to just set back in the pocket and be his magnificent self.

It wasn’t pretty and next weeks opponent is much tougher. Their QB is not that far behind Ward in passing yards and our defense still not covering receivers very well. Better be aware of every passing situation.
