    Thanks for the video! I have the same rack, just recently traded in a rav4 for a wrangler. I installed a curt receiver on the new Jeep, bought the extender from the link in your video description. Worked like a charm! Just ordered the anti-rattle pin as well (a bit of play between the receiver/extender), hope that does the job

    Good review, thanks. And good points on some of the downsides of the two other competitors. Both others have the cable locks in an inconvenient place down low inside the trays versus the Thule with locks integrated in the top of the wheel clamp arm. While the Kuat is definitely the best looking of all the options, its release lever for the tilt is in between both bikes. Minor but these differences matter with constant everyday use.

    Good review buddy. I guess it works for you. When I traded my JK for the JL ...old bike rack just didn’t work since the new back-camera so I sold the bike rack & bike. I got a folding bike & now, I roll the back seat & the bike folded get into my Jeep. Hope, Mopar get a good bike rack without blocking the back camera. Time will tell!

    Excellent video dude! I love my Dr Tray (2018-2019 w the uprgades) but a couple things I really like the look of on this T2 PRO are how the back wheel cradle slides back and forth with the ratchet as well as you mentioned the placement of the cable coming right out of the front by the fork makes it way easier than on my Dr Tray...The DR tray the cable is alot longer and goes all the way to the back wheel cradle to lock in place!...Which i like the idea of going through both wheels as well as the frame but its still only just as "safe" as this simple short cable on the Thule! Great video, gave me an excellent idea of what else is out there with the competition! Shred on brother!

    So the directions for assembly suck for the Thule. Confused about the screws that attach the silver rails to the bike rack. Are they fully tightened so the rails don’t slide or are they supposed to slide to accommodate two bikes. Great review.

    Thanks for the video. Great review. A couple questions about the hitch extension/drop. The video and a couple of your replies mention a 6" drop, but you've shared a link that seems to point to a 4" drop in some comments...can you confirm which it is? And related to that, I don't expect to be doing any significant off roading with bikes on, but have you encountered any scraping while on road? Curbs, speed bumps, etc. Thanks again for the review.

    • @OCDMountainBiking
      @OCDMountainBiking  4 года назад +3

      Thank you! It is a 4" drop. Yes, if you're going down/up a steep driveway you'll want to take it slow and perhaps take an angled approach to avoid scraping. I've scraped it a couple of times... Thanks for checking out my video!

    Great video!!! You used the hitch receiver adapter extender "riser" (flipped upside down) to actually lower the bike rack for clearance of the Jeep's swing gait. Makes total sense. But, I have a larger concern with the bike rack being much closer to the ground and dragging if I wanted to take my mountain bikes into some remote areas. I think I would give up the swing gait clearance ability in order to have the increased ground clearance. Curious if you have flipped the hitch receiver adapter over 180 degrees and used it as a bike "riser" and how that worked for you? Are you still able to open the swing gait on your Jeep slightly if the rack had no bikes on it and the bike rack was tilted down?

    • @cdnjeepoverland
      @cdnjeepoverland 4 года назад +1

      I had the same concern with his setup - a drop hitch just reduced the clearance of his wrangler. Consider the thule access or kuat pivot v2. I haven’t tried either, and I’m worried that the lock pin of the access will be right under the spare and impossible to remove.... one of these options should be better than the drop hitch, though.

      You're welcome! Yes I am using the softride hitch pin. I'm just using the inside plastic peace with the nut in it. It kinda just "floats" inside the hitch and I have to hold it level when inserting it so the nut doesn't slide out. Not perfect, but it works just fine!

    Would be nice to see how you would load a 65 lb e-bike, pretending you were an average person. As with almost all of the other reviews I've seen on racks, only regular mountain bikes are loaded, not heavy e-bikes.

    It seems you loose a lot of ground clearance for going offload!?

      You really do. I need to find a solution for when I'm 4wheelin.

      @@OCDMountainBiking Is it not possible to just go straight out? I'm assuming the rack on it's own does not allow both bikes to clear the spare? But is there a straight extension that works with the clearences, withough dropping down?

    Hey, why not get a rack that goes on the spare tire

      Just not my style. Plus I'll be going with bigger tires soon and it probably wouldn't work.

    Useless lock. I wouldn't even drop into store for something quick with thin cable. I always lock mine up with a heavy duty u-bolt... two of them lol

      Hahaha... 😁 Well I really try not to pass through scetchy neighborhoods where piece of mind only comes by way of multiple u-bolts... Call me a puss, but I try to avoid pillage and plunder rest stops. 😂 Nothing cuts a ride short quicker than some good ol fashion plundering, am I right?!? 😁

    this bike rack is $699, not $579 as posted

    The rack cost more then the bike. They gonna leave the bikes and steal the rack instead. 🤣

    Can you use adapters to take it down to 1.25 ? I have both sizes on 2 different vehicles I would like to use it on
