- When one tries to find out about unaffiliated Madrasahs in India, one organisation's name will come up, that is 'Darul Uloom Deoband'. The evolution of the Madrasah education system in India and the Indian subcontinent has been influenced by various historical and socio-political factors. A significant change occurred in the educational landscape after 1857 when British rule took over. The Deoband Madrasah's independence from government funding and its distinctive academic culture further shaped the Madrasah system. There are 70 to 800 thousand unrecognized madrasahs in the country with around 1 crore 10 lakh children. Though the deceitful Sachar Committee Report very cleverly excludes thousands of Deobandi madrasahs in the country, Darul Uloom Deoband thrives to become the cradle of Fedayeen Mujahedeen. Apparently a terrorist organisation 'The Taliban' traces its origin from there, and so does the notorious Tablighi Jamaat. While Madrasas in India have the authority via Darul Ifta, another organisation among many prominent others that originated from Darul Uloom Deoband to issue fatwas based on demand, the Right to Education Act aims to improve educational coverage across the country, addressing the deprivation of fundamental rights to education, especially for children living in poor conditions in Madrasa orphanages.

Present post of Priyank Kanoongo is Chairman, National Commission for Protection of Child Rights, Government of India. He is continuously working for the effective implementation of the mandate received under the Commission’s Right to Education Act, Juvenile Justice Act, POCSO Act, and Child Labor Act. In this context, under his guidance, the Commission is organizing consultations with the stakeholders, workshops, and other awareness programs across the country and regularly inspecting the institutions related to children. Along with this, many important studies related to children are also being done. With the aim of ensuring that every child gets his constitutional and statutory rights, he is constantly moving towards realizing the concept of a child-friendly society.

देवी अहिल्या की कथा का वर्णन वाल्मीकि रामायण के बालकांड में मिलता है। अहिल्या अत्यंत ही सुंदर, सुशील और पतिव्रता नारी थीं। उनका विवाह ऋषि गौतम से हुआ था। दोनों ही वन में रहकर तपस्या और ध्यान करते थे। ऋषि गौतम ही न्यायसूत्र के रचयिता हैं। शास्त्रों के अनुसार शचिपति इन्द्र ने गौतम की पत्नी अहिल्या के साथ छल से सहवास किया था।
अहिल्या की सुंदरता के कारण सभी ऋषि-मुनि, देव और असुर उन पर मोहित थे। देवताओं के राजा इन्द्र तो कुछ ज्यादा ही मोहित हो चले थे। इन्द्र के मन में अहिल्या को पाने का लोभ हो आया। बस फिर क्या था। एक दिन ऋषि के आश्रम के बाहर देवराज इन्द्र रात्रि के समय मुर्गा बनकर बांग देने लगे। गौतम मुनि को लगा कि सुबह हो गई है। मुनि उसी समय उठकर प्रात: स्नान के लिए आश्रम से निकल गए। इन्द्र ने मौका देखकर गौतम मुनि का वेश धारण कर लिया और देवी अहिल्या के पास आ गया।
इधर, जब गौतम मुनि को अनुभव हुआ कि अभी रात्रि शेष है और सुबह होने में समय है, तब वे वापस आश्रम की तरफ लौट चले। मुनि जब आश्रम के पास पहुंचे तब इन्द्र उनके आश्रम से बाहर निकल रहा थे। इन्होंने इन्द्र को पहचान लिया। इन्द्र द्वारा किए गए इस कुकृत्य को जानकर मुनि क्रोधित हो उठे और इन्द्र तथा देवी अहिल्या को शाप दे दिया। देवी अहिल्या द्वारा बार-बार क्षमा-याचना करने और यह कहने पर कि 'इसमें मेरा कोई दोष नहीं है', पर गौतम मुनि ने कहा कि तुम शिला बनकर यहां निवास करोगी। अब आप ही बताओ कोई देव भगवान जो लोगो को अच्छे कार्य करने का हुक्म दे और वोही पापी, बलात्कारी, और किसी की इज्जत लूट ने वाला हो वो देव केसे हो सकता है, आपकी ही बहन बेटी मां के साथ इस तरह का काम इंद्र करे तो? भाई ये देव देवता की जूठी कहानी से बाहर आ जाव

1) Nizamuddin was not brought over by Aurengzeb from Persia - this is a complete lie! He was from Lucknow - and the madrassah was called Farangi Mehel as the building was built by a European businessman. You just want to make a fake connection as you want to associate it with Aurengzeb!
2) You said there have been no changes to madrassah system in 300 years, this is a also a lie, many madrassahs have implemented major changes in syllabus, like Nadwatul Ulama in Lucknow and many others Many madrassahs teach modern subjects too! Yes there are need for changes like making students prepared to work in modern world and stopping harsh discipline like hitting children that sometimes happens in some madrassahs, but this should be worked with to resolve, not to paint all as evil, not every madrassah disciplines children like that
4. What you side about students being taught that earth is stationary and sun revolves around the earth - this may be in very few madrassahs but not in the mainstream ones and modern astronomical facts are accepted by vast majority of Muslim scholars

5. You can't even say awqaaf (plural of waqf) properly, you say (awfaaq) - shows you are really an expert sir!
6. You never mentioned the role the madrassahs had in resistance movement against the British and in Azaadi of Hindustan, they had a very big role!.

I agree there are problems with books like Beheshti zeywar, they should not be taught to children - these things need to be discussed with wise members of the Muslim community from all groups so they can come to an agreement and people should not be targeted or threatened, you should not incite people against others! I am not well versed in the laws of India but you should sit down with legally aware people of Muslim community and discuss concerns and you can come to agreements instead of giving inflammatory lectures.
13. You are focusing on some bad examples, why don't you look at the good examples of madrassahs that teach modern subjects too - like Jamia Salfia Banaras, Nadwatul Ulamaa and many others!

I'm a Hindu OBC from kolhapur-Maharashtra's village where there is 10-20% population of muslim which could be 1000-2000..but there are only 10-12 childrens enrolled in madarsa. I've seen many villages of other districts also but i there's only 1-2% of children's population which goes to madarsa. Then how come 1crore children are studying in madarsa is true? 🤔🤔

Never seen isckon volunteering for free lectures in schools. Have only seen them trying to force sell(NOT Distribute) our holy book to random people who may-not even value it… Programs for kids in most cities are limited and mostly summer camps like instead of regular classes so mass cultural education isn’t possible as of today 😞

i dont believe in deoband ideology, but ur intention was just hate mongering with half truths, on its inception it was so harmonious that hindus also donated generously for the madrasah (historical records), the role they played in indian independence(check wiki page of darul uloom deoband) , no of indian non-muslims who were educated in different madrasas and went on to serve the country all hoodwinked.

Aala Hazrat wrote in Ahkam-e-Shariat that Wahabi, Deobandi, Ahl-e-Hadith, Rafaji and Qadiyani even if they chant the name of Allah a million times, they would remain Waje bul Qital and murtad.
Ala Hazrat had clearly called the Wahhabis as infidels and raised questions on even their prayers. They have called Kufr to read Namaz behind them, their mosques are called Kuffar ki Masjid. Leave their prayers, even thier azaan was declared null.
In response to this book , Devbandi Khalil Ahmed Saharanpuri wrote a book Al Muhannad Al Mufnad and wrote , "Ahmed Raza Barelvi's entire Lashkar has been declared as a Satanic Jamaat. He declared them Kafir Mushrik, and the signatures of Ashraf Ali Thanvi and many great Deobandi Alims printed in his book.

Registration is a MUST to conduct any sort of education. This can be seen as national security issue and government should take immediate actions and have a department to identify such places. India will need cleanse this mentality if wants to have a prosperous future.

Let me correct you.
There was nothing called Khalifat movement, there was only one movement called Khilafat movement.
And Khilafat movement was actually the Khalifat you are talking about i.e aimed at protecting the Turkish Ottoman Khalifa, the last surviving Caliphate.
Indian History textbooks teach children that Khilafat movement was a freedom struggle promoted by M K Gandhi, which is just a partial cover up. The real agenda was to prevent Turkey from becoming a secular state and preserve the islamic identity of the turkish ruler. M.K Gandhi assumed that if he led the indian masses including hindus into supporting the khilafat (caliphate) movement, he will get whole hearted support from muslims against the British.
But after world war II, Gandhi realised that all the expected support got mobilised towards the wrong direction.
So in short, Khalifat (caliphate) was known as "Khilafat". There was only this one movement.
Being a Pakistani I think that Darul Aloom Deoband has done a lot of research for Islam not only in Indian Subcontinent, Pakistan, India, Bangladesh, Afghanistan but even in the Arabic Countries of the World. This is why that whenever there is a dispute among the Muslims of world, then majority Muslims follow Deoband . For example in 1923 when Saudi Arabian Kingdom wanted to demolish the Tomb of the grave of Prophet Muhammad PBUH , in Madina Saudi Arabia, it was one of Maulana from Deoband India who went to Saudi Arabia and stop this action by his Iogical Fatwa. Still there are 10000 Madrassas in Afghanistan, 30000 Madrassas in Pakistan 25000 in Bangladesh which follow Deoband. All guide line is also given to other Muslims in different field of life . A very great work done by Deoband is the launching of Tableghi Jamat , in 190 Countries of World. This is why it is said that Islam was born in Saudi Arabia but it will be spread by the Muslims of Indian Subcontinent.
