- GBO2 gameplay featuring the GP03 on the space fortress interior map. This match is a little showcasing of the GP03, putting the bare fundamentals of bluezooking into the practice of modern 550 space meta which is by no means forgiving. That said, whilst the suit is on it's face outclassed, the strength of modern suits that we fight here, the Perfect gundam TB, the Psycommu Test type doga and the jedda cannon, demonstrate one of the great issues of trying to find balance in this game. Stronger suits can engender weaker players into higher ratings. And yet that is what BB will continue to strive for with the current practice of using A all the way to S as their statistical sample. The PGTB's on the enemy team were lax in their approach hoping to utilise all of it's ranged weapons in a combo before engaging in melee, creating time for our team to punch back more often than we should have been able to. The enemy Psyco doga's left themselves vulnerable and without their MA scrabbling for multi incom lock ons. And the enemy jedda cannon got a bit too cocky rather than regrouping with their allies. So despite their overhwelming stun economy advantage firmly pushing our team back to the spawn as happens so often on this map, we still come out on top. Yet these suits are still strong, stronger than the GP03 that's for sure, of course it helps that I do love playing space so much, netting myself a fat stack of diversions by utilising out movement. The added dimension allows for us to fill the gaps between our mobile suit with skill in movement (of course now even weapons like the PTTD's incoms are meant to now do away with such advantages). More so than just space experience, it takes time to build up and understand the flow of battle and when it is more efficient to transition immediately to melee to confirm a kill off a stun into knockdown rather than leaving your opponent the window of opportunity created when trying to chain ranged weapons together, especially if no one on the team ends up pushing for melee. Of course the GP03 does not get to dictate that choice like many modern suits, it's bluezook or bust. Of course on paper the GP03's damage 'shouldn't' be that far behind, combining it's rifle and bazooka with it's downswing 'should' net it competitive DPS potential, however the difference here is 'ease' of use. However, in real battle you'r generally only gonna get one chance to knockdown an enemy per zook shot, and won't be able to pursue past dodgerolls against double dodgeroll suits safely, poor odds for most lagtypes. The DPS and build of the rifle is good, but there's no hand holding, you just gotta straight up get used to firing those shots and lining up as many as you can on moving targets. Funnily enough BB recommends singular stun into downswing type MS for generals to new players. this appears designed to impart the importance of knocking down enemies and seizing advantage, more so than actual 'ease' of first time use. In fact, in this day and age, players capable of turning singular stuns into knockdowns is becoming a rarity as more suits are designed around completely exhausting your opponent of resources beforehand or outright granting instant knockdown speed weapons. Take heart, all the skill for a suit like the GP03 could be applied to meta suits, now and in the future, and the ways of bluezook thus retain their value long term and is worth the practice. Space takes most people more time, especially with the atrocious default control scheme :P
