holy CRAP, i literally gasped out loud when i saw that first shot of the drink pouring itself out of the ice ball and extinguishing the flame. coolest drink i have EVER seen, dude. cheers!
You really wanna see care for cocktails, get off American videos and watch Japanese bartending and you will see some of the most mind blowing things ever when it comes to care for your cocktail
If you look at the list of top 50 bars in the world 2016, 5 out of the first top 10 are located in London. I am willing to bet my an enormous amount of money that they all serve better cocktails than this guy does. Not that he is bad or anything.
viperhalberd There's a difference between caring about cocktails and being a fucking Victorian chemist. There are plenty of excellent mixology places - one of my personal favourites is the Discount Suit Company in Aldgate. You have to look to find good places; they don't just find you.
This is an incredible great cocktail! I have to questions tho 1. Can you use a martini glass aswell? 2. I'd like to use a blue filling cocktail so it's actually Ice and fire, however I have no idea what would match a strong burning alcohol. Any ideas ?
Hmm, I don't use artificial colors (basically any drink with bright blue) so I can't help you here. Maybe a high proof vodka would work from a color standpoint
Just made this cocktail...thanks for the GREAT instructions! It really wasn't hard at all to make and the theatrics drew some "wows" off the ol' snapchat :) Just earned a subscriber...cheers!
I've seen ignited cocktails before, and I've seen your hollow ice sphere trick... but this was a really clever combination of those two techniques. Nice work!
I'm having a season finale party and was looking for the perfect cocktail, and oh my god here it is (if I can afford the 151 of course) loving your stuff and already have the ice balls prepared
THAT. IS. FREAK'N. AWESOME!!! Also, Battle of the Bastards was probably one of the best episodes ever, of the entire freak'n series. Jon Snow & Daenerys Targaryen FTW!!!!
Cocktail Chemistry Can you do a video with this idea but using the Butterfly Pea Tea so that the blue ice ball empties into acid/151 and turns purple? So many of your methods combined into one, I think it would look awesome!
I'm not even old enough to drink but I'm really starting to get interested in the science of cocktails and especially this drink so I might start making things like what I've seen on your channel for my parents on special occasions
So.... I'm addicted to videos that shows things I'm not even gonna touch. I can't even make a sphere ice cube :P but I really admire this job. Just perfect and unique on this kind of videos
Does the over-abundance of flaming rum not unbalance the the actual cocktail? I don't know how quickly alcohol burns off when lit, but I would guess that it would be hard to judge how much rum to use given that its burning. Or am I just overthinking this?
Love the video and love the cocktail. At the end, when you raise your glass to the camera, it looks like your a propositioning your viewers. I could only say yes. With that drink, how could I say no?
Hey man I rly enjoyed this video and I can't wait to practice making this drink. However pls pls continue to make more your creativity is awesome. I see you enjoy showing us the typical cocktail drinks but how would you feel about creating cocktails out of fandom stuff? If that interest you I'm sure many more will and I would love to see more videos that you show.
I believe the original poster was more so referring to the ring finger being tucked differently than the rest of the fingers. But yes he holds it like that because gripping it like a pole wouldn't offer any stability, so his grip allows his pinky to more steadily rest on the base of the glass due to the ring finger being tucked and not allowing his pinky to wiggle much.
@cocktailchemisty The advice to have water near by if there is an issue with fire is a bad one. Water does not extinguish Class B fires (Class B fires involve flammable liquids rather gasoline, alcohol, and oil). You should have a CO2, halon, or dry chemical extinguisher that is marked B, C, BC, or ABC to stop alcohol fire. If you use water it can cause the fire to spread. Great content, thank you, I subscribed.
Quick question from someone who knows nothing about any of this: Why the heck do you use the injector a bunch of times to extract the water from the ice shell? Once that hole is there, couldn't you simply turn it upside down to drain all the water? (This video is super awesome by the way)
You need air flow for the liquid to come out (hence why coffee cup lids have a small hole punched in the top). Having said that, if you punctured the sides of the ball for the bamboo pick while the water was still in the ball, that should help it drain out without the injector.
I don't know the scientific explanation, but fire made it good.
Caramelization of the sugar
christian.mann91 um it’s a Simpson reference
@@JamesCA Flaming Moe, it's called a flaming moe.
fire good
Binging with Babish and Cocktail Chemistry should come together and create the worlds best god damn dinner in the world.
You're a stud, man. Just built a bar in my house and have subscribed to your channel... I'm ready to learn!

i have no idea how this channel is still as small as it is. one of the best channels on youtube. nice cocktail, will try it later this weekend.
you are awesome for coming up with this, and sharing it with everyone. the credit is yours.
Now that's a cocktail I'd pay 💰 for, incredible complexity and beautiful presentation.
Beautiful! Such an art! I wish bars in London cared so much about their cocktails as you do.
Dude it's not that hard to find a top level decent bar in London, although the average price for a drink is around 20 pounds...

Well despite your attempt to disparage me, you gave me a worthwhile suggestion, so thank you for that. I'll check it out.
That was the most incredible creativity i've seen for a cocktail. Well done good sir!
Your voice is calming and these drinks you make are great
This is an incredible great cocktail! I have to questions tho
1. Can you use a martini glass aswell?
2. I'd like to use a blue filling cocktail so it's actually Ice and fire, however I have no idea what would match a strong burning alcohol. Any ideas ?
How about Blue Curaçao for Cointreau? Of course, you would have to completely reformulate it because the fruit juices would screw up the color.
+Alonso Castro But would it work with the dark rum (the high proof one)
Hmm, I don't use artificial colors (basically any drink with bright blue) so I can't help you here. Maybe a high proof vodka would work from a color standpoint
+Cocktail Chemistry How much percent should it have ? Does 42 work?
Should be higher than that, closer to 80%
That was incredible mate! Thanks for sharing your knowledge of this amazing cocktail creation.
G'day from Sydney, Australia.
Fair dinkum mate
This is the single most creative cocktail I've ever seen.

Nice work!
you're a Cocktail-God! thanks for sharing this video with us. greetings from Germany
I'm having a season finale party and was looking for the perfect cocktail, and oh my god here it is (if I can afford the 151 of course) loving your stuff and already have the ice balls prepared
the do the best video. Concise, precise, cool looking. You don't talk too much like the other, I like it. keep it up
Normally, you look away from the camera while sipping on your drink. This time, you looked right where my soul should be, and it was chilling.
Smooth and nice to look at.
Oh.....ah....yeah......so was the cocktail.
Great recipe. Excellent presentation.
👏👏👏👏👏
Excellent presentation, I like the special effect & the cocktail sounds really good.
THAT. IS. FREAK'N. AWESOME!!! Also, Battle of the Bastards was probably one of the best episodes ever, of the entire freak'n series. Jon Snow & Daenerys Targaryen FTW!!!!

I'm 15, I don't like alcohol but your videos are still entertaining! Keep up the good work
What a truly inspired imagination you have. Thanks for sharing!

I'm not even old enough to drink but I'm really starting to get interested in the science of cocktails and especially this drink so I might start making things like what I've seen on your channel for my parents on special occasions

It's great stumbling on creative presentation. Nice channel you got going on.
How am I only now seeing these videos? Fantastic channel!!!!!
Very cool! At Christmas, my family and I have a cocktail competition. You can be sure that i'll recreate this drink to sweep in the first place!
This is by far the coolest drink I've seen made.
You get the Professor Science of Mixology with that...So smooth.
This is awesome. Gonna have to try this some day soon...
This is some next level insanity. I love it.
Perfect timing finding this now for this weekend. Cheers
How long do you usually keep these early releases unlisted for? I really want to share it with some friends! This is just purely amazing...
Thanks, feel free to share now
Best YT channel ever.
3:49 - Note - you need to chill the cocktail (ie. stir it with ice). If you pour warm cocktail into a frozen ball, the ball will break.
I'm having a viewing party on sunday for the season finale thanks for uploading this!
as a young bartender i can learn a lot of cool new cocktails. thank you!:)
awesome skills and you got such a relaxing voice👍
I love you can hear the sweet sound of the game of thrones theme song on the piano.
Just amazing! Literally AMAZING!!! You are AWESOME!
This was one of your best yet... Makes. Me wish I still bartended. Well done... KB from Ohio
Does the over-abundance of flaming rum not unbalance the the actual cocktail?

This is pure genius, I love it
Thanks!
Great!! I love those kind of creations
Now that is fancy, would love to see your take on Caribou Lou or KC Tea
Love the video and love the cocktail. At the end, when you raise your glass to the camera, it looks like your a propositioning your viewers. I could only say yes. With that drink, how could I say no?

Awesome video! Great cocktail!
You gave up the soldering Iron ?
Amazing vidéo btw
OMG this was amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am a bartender and I absolutely loved this!
so satisfying watching your videos
amazing idea, definitely going to try
Is that the way to hold that glass?
looks kinda funny
Yes, you hold stemmed glasses by the stem so you don't heat the drink up with your hand. That's the whole point of stemmed glasses.

Coolest drink I've seen! Liked and subscribed!
simple question. can you break the ice ball and leave it in to keep the drink cool or is it a drink that will be ruined by the added water ?
Game of thrones cocktail,I love it bro!
You're an artist!
This is really brilliant
