That Ukranian vocalist...Couldn't understand a word but I could feel that. Everyone did. The unspoken unanimous standing on feet for everyone was a clear sign of absolute respect for the art, the artist and the song and what it meant. Could someone who knows please explain to me the meaning of the song?
Even though I'm not Ukranian...watching the reaction from the coaches and the audience, realizing this probably being a song that means a lot to Ukrainians gave me goosebumps.
For those wondering about it, the Ukrainian song is called "Plyve Kacha po Tysyni" and it is an old Lemko-Ukrainian folk song which is now sung as a requiem of sorts, for protestors killed during the 2013-2014 Euromaidan, the 2014 Revolution of Dignity, and the current Russo-Ukrainian War. The lyrics are a dialogue between a mother and her son going off to war. Oh, duckling floats on Tisyna* Duckling floats on Tisyna. My mother, don't scold me, My mother, don't scold me.
Oh, if you will scold me at this dark hour, If you will scold me at this dark hour. I don't know where I'll die, I don't know where I'll die.
Oh, I'll die on foreign lands I will die on foreign lands. Who will prepare a grave for me? Who will prepare a grave for me?
Oh, another people will prepare, Strangers will prepare. Won't you regret, mother? Won't you regret, mother?
Oh, my son, how could I not regret? My son, how could I not regret? You were laying on my heart, You were laying on my heart.
Oh, duckling floats on Tisyna Duckling floats on Tisyna. SLAVA UKRAINI !!!! Regards from Chile, my heart goes out to your wonderful nation...
The Norwegian guy was just superb, so pure and he has remarkable control of his voice. And I love the fact that these Norwegians lads like wearing pearls.
😢 I'm in hard weeping because of this beautiful song of a mother that lost her son in a war. I'm so sorry for her loss and that there has to be war. My parents gave me a piece of paper and a pencil when I was 4 years old and asked me to write down what I wanted for Christmas. The only thing I wrote down was "World Peace". I'm now 69 years old and I don't think that I will ever see World Peace 🕊️✌️❤ in my lifetime 😢
@@thunderbirdice That's a good actor. Isak's face doesn't remind me of anyone. In his style of performance there is something in common with Morten Harket from A-ha
The Ukranian song, singer and instrument are hauntingly beautiful! I don't need the words to feel the sorrow, pain, nostalgia and connection with the land! So atmospheric. A film is playing in my head!
Isak's performance, that I cannot even call a performance, flawlessly defines authenticity. There is a difference, such a difference, between doing something "well" and doing something "truly." I absolutely appreciate this performance as well as the others in this video. So beautiful ❤ Moved.
The way the Ukrainian coaches and the audience all stood up while she was singing tell you how important and beautiful that song is to them, and she has an amazing voice. I wanna know the name of this song and if I can find it on iTunes.
It’s called “Plyve Kacha po Tysyni” which translates to “A Duckling Floats down the Tysina”. Tysina - a name of a river. It’s a Ukrainian Folk song about a mother who has lost her son to war. It is now sang as a memory to those people, the peaceful protestors who have died in Kyiv during Maidan of Independence in 2013-2014.

The young and lovely-singing man from Norway is definitely my favourite. Number ten is in my ears, the best but all the others are talented in their way, too. 🥰
Singing is somewhat similar to talking/yelling but get your point. The original song is pretty much like that though. Interesting to see how he performs properly melodic songs.
I don't know if is being a veteran myself, but finding out what the Ukrainian song was about before it played made it seem to pull my heart strings even harder.
The man singing Cornerstone is unreal! He isn’t your usual the Voice singer ofc but he had me captivated from the first few words, just as the judges! ❤️
All those songs are amazing, and even if I don't understand the language, I feel the love and pain.. this Ukrainian lady absolutely made me cry ... Cuz without understanding the languangy, I felt the pain, love and ...just love it
Jesus... the Ukranian folk song for some reason i understand the lyrics even i don't know the language. like someone saying goodbye and having sorrow for not seen that person again...
Although an American opinion on a French Show person is not respected, I would love to hear more artist sing song that are not truly covered or masked by beats but a genuine song like Cornerstone on the performance by the Voice France on this collection of performances, un respecto!
Palomy was absolutly amazing such a soul touching heart warming performance it was the first spanish song ive ever heard and even the most emotional. I dont understand the language but i love it

The song of the Ukrainian young lady back then, when she sang it, I was there when she did, is such an inspiration today for Ukrainian people. Resist the Russian bully at all cost! This, the Russian aggression, is not what humanity is about in 2024! Period! We have to evolve as a species, not as a nationality. Let's look to the future, leave the past behind!
From wiki (to Ukrainian song): "A Duckling Swims in the Tisza" (Ukrainian: Пливе́ ка́ча по Тиси́ні, romanized: Plyve kacha po Tysyni), also known as "Hey, a Duckling Swims in the Tisza" (Ukrainian: Гей, пливе кача по Тисині, romanized: Hey, plyve kacha po Tysyni) is a Lemko folk song that became well-known in the 21st century due to its frequent use as a requiem for protestors killed during the 2013-2014 Euromaidan, the 2014 Revolution of Dignity, and the ongoing Russo-Ukrainian War.
