People are saying they don’t sound good but I think they sound great, speaking as someone who studying music theory. The only thing is I wish they didn’t breathe into the mic. But they were consonance with smooth harmonic sounds, they also sounded like a little improvisation to some of the notes.
I like Sabrina’s better for this song, it has a softness. Chappell keeps doing that weird goat thing with her voice in this that wouldn’t sound bad in a different type of song but in this song it’s distracting me
As a professor of music theory at berkley I have to say this is the most amazing example of modern music slop. The very notion of revising a christmas classic with this nonsensical mumble doodaa spits in the face of George Michael. Souless as this cover is, I can say with utmost confidence that this will be their best song in terms of lyrics and substance, too bad they had to mooch off of the brilliance of a far greater musician who lost his life too young.
