Unsure what your point is. Some have electric motors and some do not - it is what it is. The original design on all music boxes was mainspring driven and many were electrified later on.
My only question is: How long do you really want to listen to that same tune? After hearing that a few dozen times you will likely want to take an axe to it. The electric motor also doesn't make a lot of sense to me, the charm of a music box is in that it is old fashioned, adding a motor takes away from that; you might as well just stick an MP3 player in a box and play a simulated music box for that matter.
As shown by this gentleman at the end of the video, the music box has multiple different tunes it can play with the help of discs. The arm on the right going to the center of the disc can be lifted, which allows the disc to be swapped for another. As much as I also enjoy mechanical contraptions like these beautiful disc music boxes, an electric motor does make sense. Sure you can't play it without electricity, but there's many less points of failure in the mechanism compared to a spring powered variant when you use an electrical motor. In this instance, it appears to me that the only difference between this music box and one with a fully mechanical mechanism is the lack of a crank and lack of a spring powered mechanism. Everything else is the exact same, the comb, the beautiful construction of the box itself, etc. It has the same resonance and beauty as a traditional music box, and is far from an MP3 player or a simulated music box.
the most beautyful music box i ever seen... i am in love with it...
Did you say that you use a motor? That raises another problem. It becomes an electric appliance.
Some have electric motors and other have mechanical wind movements.
Motor driven makes a stable output, but the feeling is totally changed.

Oh, I think I would like the crank version....
I'd LOVE to have one! ;-;
Are the sounds I just heard from the heaven?
