The Skytrain isn’t that convenient for most going into the city proper. Note that you have to transfer at Bang Su to Mo Chit, which is exactly the same station the A1/A2 bus gets you two minus all that walking!
good to know :) I think I'll take the a1/2 bus for the ease of getting there after a long day of travel, then the red line when I depart just to see what it's like.
Thank you so much Chon for making this video (and all the other Bangkok guide videos too!). Your guide videos have helped me a lot in my recent trip to Bangkok and a lot of things feel familiar when I was there, after watching so many of your videos 😊 p/s: thanks to this video, I took the A1 bus from DMK airport, stopped at Mo Chit and took the BTS from there to the city..it was so easy & didn’t have to walk so much/transfer many types of transportation as compared to taking the SRT line!
Greetings from North Borneo freelance tourist guide..Maybe November 2022 multi city..BKI - IPH - HDY - USM - DMK change airport to BKK(I have less idea where 2 go where hehe) - KUL - BKI..
Chon, I will be reaching at Don Mueang next month as you suggested will take the airport bus to Victory Monument BTS and may continue because I plan to drop by at terminal 21 for lunch before continuing with MRT Sukhumvit and heading to MRT Wat Mangkon.
Coming soon Intercity railway can connect with SRT red line on 2nd floor at Donmuang station.
aww.. i was going to si lom, took the SRT to Bang Sue and changed to mrt that way . probley lost a lot of time compared to if I took the bus to Lumpini
Great video ... I've been coming to Bangkok for 32 years and have used every means except the SRT....and yes I already knew about the Departure level Taxis 😁
Useful video. I hope the A1-4 buses aren’t discontinued. Also, if I want to take the regular train for some reason, you can avoid the stairs by using the Amari lift.
Taking a train is absolutely not recommended for both departures and arrivals because of the amounts of walking you will do not to mention how much time you loose.
Hi, can you please help me. What's the best commuting option from Don Mueang airport going to my hotel near the GMMTV along Asok Montri Road? Thank you.
I was in Bkk in Mar 2023 n took the SRT Redline rail. It was indeed a long walk, luckily I watch similar video b4, so I was assured. It cost 33B to Bang Su station, I had a hard time using the ticket machine, half of the machine was out of order, but theres always staff in the booth to help. From Bang Su I took Grab car to my hotel in Pratunam. I did not want to take the Bus bcos it was late at night & did not want to wait for Grab in dubious places. It was my first time visiting. But during the day, the bus would save me more money cos I be closer to my destination. And I didnot hv to do the long walk. In Bkk I found the MRT/rail, motorcycle taxi & Grab most helpful. In that order..
@@gerasista1927 I hv not done it.. I wanted to save money. But I blv you can use Grab, you may hv to pay toll charges totalling to 200B to avoid traffic jam. Be sure you are certain about your pick-up location. I always text the driver my photo & the location shot.
Thank you for your videos..enjoyed it very much. May i know what js d best option to get from don mueang airport to oriental heritage residence/royal orchid sheraton hotel?
hi, thanks for such an informative video, i will be reaching dmk airport around 2 pm, i need to go to sukhumvit soi 4, soi nana, can you please advice me, how can i travel cheaply
Thankyou for clearly informayion. I''vw been to Bankok about 5 times... but the last one was in 2013... next ajuly will com3bqck again with my family... and I think i will choose the A3 bus for our transposrtation cos our hoyel is around Pratunam.. and we are 5 persons in our group, so I think to take a taxy will not worthed.. what do you think?
I took the bus with number A1 and got off at Mo Chit BTS station because my inn was around there. i decided to stay at chatuchak to enjoy chatuchak market. the next day walk enjoy the beautiful parks on the way to bangkok bus terminal (chatuchak). When I arrived at the bus station, I did not find a bus with the aim of going to Jomtien. which is only up to pattaya bus station. From pattaya bus station i ordered grab to go to jomtien. I saw this content. very useful content with detailed explanation. maybe in the next content, you can explain how to go to jomtien or pattaya from DMK and explain how to ride the Songthaew along with the routes and costs in jomtien or pattaya Thank you greetings from Indonesia
EXCELLENT! One of the best YT videos I’ve seen from an airport to city center. I can see Don Mueang Airport has much improved. Many years ago, before the SRT line and the ‘new’ international airport was opened; arrivals hall at Don Mueang Airport was pure caos. I recall the walk to the street-level train station was indeed very difficult to navigate. Congratulations to all the people that have improved access to the city from this airport. 🙏🏻
i have landed at Don Muean airport 50 times over the years, but a few months ago was the 1st time since covid. I turned left after getting my SIM card, took a ticket and walked straight up to the counter. I think some taxi drivers have modified their meter in one way or another. the fare to get to the Landmark was 475 Bt on the meter. on top of that, 50bt at the airport, 120bt in highway toll fee, and he charged us 50bt for each piece of luggage (2). i knew about the fee to pay after getting the ticket, and they highway, but was shocked at how fast the meter was running. I have done this many many times, i know he took the right roads. but my total bill was 745 Bt. I was floored. the meter must have been rigged. It is Bolt or grab now for me.
thank you very much. going to BKK thru Don Meung (DMK) next month. where can we get phone sim card in DMK? perhaps you can make another video on that too? Thanks in advance.
Your video is very informative. It's really helpful for me who wants to go to thai soon. I'm collecting information from your channel. So, your best recommendation is to take a taxi right? Or maybe take a bus because it's cheap and easy to walk rather than train.
Hi friend, been watching your videos , great info. I have a question about taxi from Don Mueng airport to Lake Ratchada. I am coming from Vientiane, Laos and will land at Don Mueng airport with 7 peoples and a lot of luggages. What is the best way to get to our hotel? Thank you very much.
Hello! Were a family of 5 (3 kids aged between 8-13 years old). We'll be staying at a hotel near Ramkhamhaeng station. Is it possible to just book a grab taxi or any online taxi booking app to our hotel? Or do you recommend the airport taxi? Thank you.
The Skytrain isn’t that convenient for most going into the city proper. Note that you have to transfer at Bang Su to Mo Chit, which is exactly the same station the A1/A2 bus gets you two minus all that walking!
Totally agree!!! I will pin your comment for others to see.
A1; A2 buses are seems not frequent in my experience.
good to know :) I think I'll take the a1/2 bus for the ease of getting there after a long day of travel, then the red line when I depart just to see what it's like.
Thank you for sharing
But what about traffic on the road????
