Part of me thinks it's just because Karen Buono, out of all of the actors who play the parents (besides Winona obviously) has a higher billing. Like she's a well known actress and the Duffers wanted to give her screen and poster time. But the theories are cool, keep them up!
I think the same... To me it's just a question of contract/fame/money... I don't think there's another hidden reason for this scene, or for the poster... I also thought it was weird that she had her own poster, but the fact that she's associated to the Creel's house is not weird at all to me, it's just that all the characters who are in Hawkins have this detail on their posters ;-) I'm sure there's nothing behind all this.... But why not ! Everything is possible with the Duffers ^^

I am definitely in the Karen=Alice camp. I also am curious about why Holly has been the one to inadvertently witness the Mind Flayer on a couple of occasions- once at the Wheeler house in season 1 and then again seeing the evidence of the meat flayer moving through the trees in season three. Holly’s resemblance to Alice could be a coincidence, but if she and Karen are related to Henry as sister and niece, there’s a stronger reason why he showed these things to Nancy without killing her. Karen is the victim who got away, and that would make Vecna appear flawed, which he clearly does not think he is. I don’t think he would care about an aunt or cousin knowing what he did - he considers humans ants (not aunts 😂) and not worthy of concern.
I lean towards the theory that Karen Wheeler is Alice Creel. It just wouldn’t make sense for them to introduce a new character that’s related to Vecna this late in the story and give them an entire plot line, like they would have to if Karen turns out to be Virginia’s sister. And it would have to be a damn good one if they want to make a side character like Karen that important to the story without it being an overkill.
Besides that, Alice was (?) older than Henry, she was born in 1944, while Karen’s biographical information just says she was born in the 1940’s (not a specific year) and it also says that Alice was 15 when Henry (supposedly) killed her. As you said, Karen would’ve been 19 when Virginia died which isn’t too much of a difference. Also, as someone else pointed out here, Karen was the first one that Billy nearly killed, yet he didn’t, and it was cleverly made to make us believe it was because he had feelings for her. Which I now think was because Vecna commanded him not to harm her. This is also why I think Vecna didn’t harm Nancy, but he will eventually kill or try to kill Karen at least because he is prolonging the wait and kinda saving her for the end. Maybe he wants her to figure that he’s coming for her so that he will relish in the dread she’s feeling while expecting him to come and finish what he started all those years ago.
That and a few small things here and there like Holly resembling Alice (looking like her mother when she was young) and Karen not paying attention to the weird things that are going on with the kids because perhaps she’s used to just shut it down and be ignorant when something strange and unexplained is happening.
One issue I have with the Karen being a Creel theory is that I wonder if it’s safe to assume that Nancy would know that her mother’s maiden name is Creel, and then question her mother once finding out about the Creel family’s connection in this. Maybe Karen changed her last name before having kids? Who knows
She would've had to change her first name too because what the heck?

Go back to season 3 with Billy. Billy imagines basically killing her - I wonder if she's related to vecna.
I feel like Nancy's father has a lot more to do with everything.. In the visions that Vecna gave Nancy she said she saw her mother, Holly, and Mike all dead.. she didn't mention her father.. His character is always in his own world and is oblivious to everything but what if that's all an act? I dont know what exactly but i feel like the father has something to do with the upside down or Brenner somehow thats my theory

Oh he's definitely sus. Sitting there reading a newspaper like nothing's wrong in the world. Talking to his kids like he doesn't give a shit what's going on like the Dry Eyes guy. Ugh. He better have something or some reason for acting so nonchalant all the time when hell is literally on earth 😂
I just thought it was because Nancy's father wasn't as important as the rest of her family to her because of how he acts.
Also...may be far fetched but chrissy's dad had his eyes and mouth sewn shut perhaps to signify he knew the abuse chrissy's mother put her through and turned a blind eye or didn't protect her? .....just like VICTOR didn't protect henry from virginia?!
We still need to figure out why Vecna said "how is old Victor? I've been meaning to pay him a visit.."
AND this may be way way WAY the hell out there but I have a feeling Eddie is going to betry Dustin inadvertantly and either Dustin will die or Steve will die protecting him. Here's the thought process:
-Dustin's dad has been absent
-Steve and Eddie both play role models to him
-Eddie's raised by his Uncle and we have no idea about his backstory (if his was truly 10...maybe his Uncle rescued him from his parents and raised him)
-The bonding moment between Dustin and Eddie's Uncle is heart breaking, poignant and fleshed out for a character (Uncle) we just met
-I think Dustin will find seek Eddie's Uncle during the grieving process and will become a father figure to him
-Eddie comes back as Kas and kills Dustin and possibly Uncle in the process. OOOORRRR Steve dies trying to protect Dustin from Kas/Eddie
-Why would he do that? Well Vecna would instuct Kas/Eddie to eliminate Uncle-who knows too much theoretically-and Dustin is in the way.
We should Disect the D&D game in the beginning where they briefly mention KAS.
PS: I think Erica is gonna end up saving the world.

SO I posted this on one of the shorts...I apologize if it's been seen. Something made the Creel family move to the obscure town of Hawkins, it could make sense that they did it because FAMILY lived there. This would make it plausible that Karen is related to Virginia or even Victor.
There is something that bothers me about Vecna's interaction with Nancy...could he possibly see her as a young Karen? Did young Karen witness something she should not have (within the family or not?)
Karen's story arc has always grown considerably over the four seasons and I found it particularly haunting that at the moment the kids escape the police in season 4 (mind you this is the ONLY TIME THE PARENTS GET TOGETHER DESPITE THEIR CHILDREN BEING BEST FRIENDS AND IT BEING AN INCREDIBLY SMALL TOWN) the parents all run outside and she is the one standing in front (almost as if she knows).
PLUS Karen is the only one to visit Joyce when will goes missing (I believe it's out of actual love not malice...and hey that episode....Will chooses to speak to Holly....could she have powers? I mean I know children are more susceptible to supernatural phenomenon but he reached out to her for a reason, maybe to get her to find help but alas she is too young to articulate and out of fear Joyce rushes them from the house).
Plus in season one she begs Nancy to tell her anything (of course this is regarding her dating life but it shows she is not some oblivious mother or parent (typical 80's) as we have never seen ANY of the other parents even remotely engage with their children. For god's sake Dustin's mom cares more about Mews).
One more thing...in Season Two when Nancy is fired from the newspaper Karen has a very VERY important and often overlooked conversation with Nancy in the kitchen. She talks to her about how as a woman (especially looking back within the context of the 80's-and earlier in regards to sexism) she has to fight for what she believes in, stand up against any oppression she may encounter just because of her gender--she alludes to the fact that she wishes she had done the same at her age. But doesn't regret having her children.
Perhaps then maybe she wouldn't have married Ted...Perhaps she was on a different path but didn't have the courage (or ability to for whatever reason) escape the role of "settling down and resigning her life to that of an underappreciated housewife with no support from anyone.)
ONE MORE THING........in season three when Billy is possessed, I don't think Karen lured Billy on behalf of Vecna. I think she was finally gaining confidence in her own self and wanting to break free of the constrains of her suffocating life or lack thereof with Ted. Her kids are growing up and she is looking for some autonomy and appreciation, attention albeit a possibly underage high school student is NOT ok....but in the end she sees Holly and Ted and knows she is not doing the right thing. She knows wrong from right.
If I'm not mistaken Karen is the ONLY one of BIlly/"his" victims to somehow snap him out of his trance and prevent "him" from killing her. The only other time that happened was when Max was pleading with him in the sauna and yet that still wasn't strong enough to keep the Flayer at bay. He spared 11..but he nearly killed her and she had to go through great lengths to stop himself from sacrificing her and instead sacrificing himself. When he spared Karen she just apologized and showed concern for him and that's all it took. Now remember Heather did the same when she came to check on him in the showers, she was concerned about his well being and yet he took her to the MindFlayer...she didn't possess enough of an influence to bring out the real Billy.
There has to be a connection between Karen and the Creels (or even Ted & the Creels inadvertently) whether by blood, affair/love, or friendship.
LASTLY.....WHEN VECNA IS MONOLOGUING TO NANCY HE SAYS "HOW IS OLD VICTOR....I'VE BEEN MEANING TO PAY. HIM. A. VISIT." WTF DOES THAT MEAN?!?!?!?!?!?!??!?!?!?!?
Does Karen know Victor? Is he her uncle? Her brother in law? Her old lover? Did he hire Karen to babysit the children???

People keep saying its because it represents “hawkins” but the question here is why does she have a poster???? She had a little screen time and yet she had a poster so it became a curiosity to people, its more likely she’s going to have a major plot in the next season. And in 5:54 in the video he made a point there like why would she have scene their??

Karen is the only person listed as a main cast member is completely oblivious to everything. Alice is dead.
Virginia Creel being Karen’s mother or aunt is more plausible. Nancy would have more likely has heard of the Creels if they were related. Karen probably has a poster simply because Cara Buono is a big name.
I think it would be more plausible if Joyce or Terry were Alice.

They have to give me some real explanation for the origins of Henry Creel’s abilities. There are some secrets that will be revealed. Could their be more to the Creel Family or their relatives where Henry Powers could originate from. Henry is not the first of his kind. Why was Henry able to even be taken into he upside down? How can Henry travel there if he didn’t come from there and did he and may not have known. Henry could have been manipulated by the Mindslayer 🤷🏽♀️ Eddie will be Kas and they will show how that happens for a few episodes to show time passing a few years and Kas being trained and serving Vecna. Boom!
