What are WELL BARRIER ?
WELL BARRIERS are object that prevents flow of hydrocarbons from its potential flow zone.
American Petroleum Institute (API) Standard 65 (ISOLATING OF POTENTIAL ZONES DURING WELL CONSTRUCTION) provides the requirements for Well Barriers
International Association of Drilling Contractors or IADC defines Well barriers as:
System of one or several well barrier elements that contain fluids within a well to prevent uncontrolled flow of fluids within or out of the well.

Sorry for the delay. The barriers are in place ! Infact we deploy secondary barrier ( BOP ) for shutting in the well
