So I actually don't plan to use any bank leverage. I guess a sellers note is similar to leverage. That's where I owe the seller over a period of time rather than 100% all at once. I plan to do that. I'll try value the business based on my best guess of forward earnings without considering any growth that I can implement. So the risk is that the business declines after I purchase it. Which is a very real risk.
That's the right approach for the initial first deal , same thing I did here in India . It's always better for some money upfront and 85-95% sellers note. But the getting a sellers note is damn difficult as per my experience
Try for 2-3 million business , don't go for under a million untill they have more than 7-8 employees. It will be a job if you are just replacing the owner .

What size are you looking for? Revs >$1M,
Small - something I can afford. Most likely will be under 1mil
