  • Been doing this on Reddit for a while, so here are detailed and hopefully visually pleasing scorecards for each grand final in the VFL/AFL era. Each card includes the basic details (eg. scores, stats) as well as other details, including the team's win-loss record and placing, number of premierships won, best on ground (post-1979), and milestone matches. I've also tried to include a picture taken from each grand final, apart from two which I could not find.
Logos pre-1976 are inaccurate and are only used for visual purposes.
Additional credit goes to AFL tube who made something similar, albeit simplified:

Excellent , well done on the video. If there's not any problem with it , I hope you don't mind a few things with regards to "Captain's" of the respective teams. For the 1904 Grand Final , Carlton's captain was Joe McShane (John "Jack" Worrall being coach). In early years & going back to the VFA days , before John Worrall became the 1st of what is commonly known as the " Coach " at Carlton in 1903 , basically the team Captain doubled as the Coach on game day and that was sufficient back then. The " T.Collins " who was Essendon captain in 1901 & 1902 matches was "Tod" Collins , Collins' actual name was George , "Tod" being a nickname he was most commonly addressed by. George Stuckey who captained Essendon's 1897 side also won the Stawell Gift that same year , Norman " Hackenschmidt " Clark (Carlton) achieved the same (winning the Stawell Gift) 2 years later in 1899. Finally , Lawrence Gideon "Lardie" Tulloch (Collingwood - 1902 & 1903) following his retirement as a player at the end of the 1904 season went on to become a VFL Field umpire and was the Field umpire for the 1907 GF between Carlton & South Melbourne. He remains the only person to have captained a premiership team and umpired a VFL Grand Final.
