  • I interview my Stanford GSB classmate, Ty Greenberg, and he kind of interviews me! Ty worked in legal tech and toyed with the idea of either going to law school or business school. He shares his application journey and how he applied to MBA programs TWICE. He wasn’t admitted into his target school the first year so he redid his application and applied the next year. He was then admitted into Harvard, Stanford, and MIT business schools. I hope you enjoy this last episode of the season. Let’s dive in!

I appreciate this episode because it demonstrates that applicants may not be admitted on their first attempt. If you couldn't get in the first time, don't be discouraged. It all comes down to your drive and perseverance.

    Hi Cherie,
Your podcast is fantastic and really helping with my applications. Could you feature more Indians and Indian Americans from HSW, sharing their experience professionaly, MBA application and share their LinkedIn profiles in the description?
    Thanks!

I have enjoyed watching all of these podcast videos! I am so impressed with the drive, vision, self-awareness, and humility of you and your classmates. These interviews have a good balance between highlighting students’ backgrounds and their aspirations for the future. It is clear that GSB students have a great camaraderie.
I look forward to your episodes from Year 2!

@@cherie.brooke - Maybe focus on differences between Years 1 and 2 (coursework, social scene). Maybe how the job search is undertaken (resources at Stanford, networking strategies, returning to companies with sponsorships - or deciding not to and the implications of that, people who make really big pivots and take huge risks, what students do when internships don’t have return offers - especially in this job market).
Longer term for you - deciding where you will take this podcast and your other content once you have graduated. Will you continue to focus on MBA admissions and programs or will your content reflect where you are in your own life experiences and those of your classmates (such as following career trajectories)?
      Just some random thoughts!

Cherie, what entrance test would you suggest to get into business school? I know you took the GRE, can you share how much did you score and how did you prep for it?

I appreciate getting to know you better in this episode; it adds more relatability. Ty's journey was insightful and inspiring. It's not all roses; applying to law and business school can be extremely stressful, and I appreciate your candid discussion on this podcast. I love both of your personalities.
