I am 46 years old, I have been to several live concerts of Skinny Puppy mostly in Atlanta Ga. The point I am going to tell you is that every single live show was worth every single penny I worked for to be there. Every show is different, yes they play the classics like assimilate but some shows they just get real deep.
agreed. I am older still, and confess I like the older material heaps better than the later productions. But that doesn't mean I don't enjoy their new acts. And I do wish the SkPp team to always innovate and trial new material. Rather than self repeating. The joy of finding new gems in new material is so much more rewarding than keeping stuck in old tested material. I am glad they still move on. at ages above 50.
I've been a fan since '84 and have been to more shows than I can remember including the Dresden 'comeback' show. Have to to say that I am more of a Skinny Puppy 84-92 kind of guy.
I was there! 29:00 camera is on the wrong side of the stage, or you would see the guitarist miming like they were suddenly playing an acoustic guitar. Or miming any of the other process riffs, which came out identical to how they are on the cd, with all their postproduction warp sounds and everything. Sometimes the guitarist headbanged and shredded to parts with absolutely no guitar at all... so into it! I think the drummer was the only one actually playing his instrument. I had to leave an hour in because I felt like a child at a birthday party magic show. I've loved sp for 20 years though, I keep my records. I just wish they would tour without phoning it in, or not at all.
Ogre needs the old vox module back. Clean vocals sound so boring. Just doesn't have the cosmic other-worldly feel that made the sound so special. i get frustrated listening but i guess it's just a personal preference.. Maybe sound guy does the basics. Regardless it's good to see them touring and healthy. Ogre spry and animated (hope i can still move like that when i'm 56 lol) and Cev is focused as always and still enjoying spreading the message - that's what's most important in the end. Best to them
SET LIST:jahya, dogshit, fascist jock itch, curcible, hardset head, worlock, assimilate, tin omen, tfwo, death, village, encore - vx gas attack, candle(thanx crippleclerk)
:o) Jahya, Dogshit, Fascist Jock Itch, Death, Tin Omen, T.F.W.O., Curcible, Hardset Head, Village, The Choke, Worlock, Killing Game, Assimilate, Encore: VX Gas Attack Candle

I was there. The guitarist was pre-recorded: just miming along even as the sounds changed, spending more time sticking out a goth-pose tongue and making faces at the audience, pretending all of a sudden to be playing an acoustic guitar during process songs. I think only the drummer was doing anything, maybe ogre was singing under his mask, can't say. Just host international hang-out parties; play Happy Birthday between LP sides, let people know this is all you can do anymore. Posturing and pretending is so demeaning to everyone.
way old news, skinny puppy's been loooong known to just run backing tracks for their shows. ogre can't hit a note to save his life at any live show, thats what all the costumes and decor are there to distract you from. cevin though can really play the drums like damn so i dunno why hes just sitting on keys these days. i guess everyone gets old. meanwhile last time i saw adam ant live he did a 2 and a half hour set with only a 5 minute break lol
horror movies hommage mixed with the horror of this world (pollutions, war, mental disorder, fascism, animal rights (vivisection partuculary), mass survey etc .... since the mid 80s)
i hate to say it but I think he's just there for show. watch Tin Omen...he clearly misjudges a riff and moves along the fret board when there is no change in the rhythm. Not to mention that it sounds identical to the album track. I noticed right away when I saw them live last fall. Unfortunate.
@@nathan_von but they lost Dwayne due to a heroin overdose and some blame cEY to introducing it to Dwayne. IMO, Dwayne, Ogre and cEY were the real SP. Many bands have lineup changes, but Dwayne's craft and use of samples really did it for me in the 80's.

I've watched them since they started in the early 80's. They are one of the pioneers of industrial music and are worth every penny.

2004 in Atlanta, best show I have ever seen, to this day.
I've never seen them focus so much on their mid-period releases. Pretty awesome!
Skinny Puppy was also amazing in Gothenburg June 13.
Thanks a lot for the full convert from Prague.
Ogre is such a God.
Super koncert....byl jsem tam.

I know right????
I don't know why he stopped using all those cool effects on his vocals like he always did in the 80s
me too. It is what made his voice sound so surreal.
Great!
wow killer show
song list???
Byla to parádaNemáte někdo setlist ?
Měl by odpovídat tomuto. tinyurl.com/y7z7knvl

Hele to nebude správně. Tin Omen určitě jeli před dvojicí Worlock+Assimilate. Taky jeli Choke, což tam nikde nevidím..

Thought it was actually Robin Finck.
Holden Exactly what I thought!
He stole his look and his stage presence.

Překvapuje mě, že v ČR je někdo poslouchá :D
Kolik vás tam vůbec bylo?

horror movies hommage mixed with the horror of this world (pollutions, war, mental disorder, fascism, animal rights (vivisection partuculary), mass survey etc .... since the mid 80s)
Why is there a guitar player? You cant hear him at all.......??

still a great show rhough.
Yeah........unfortunate
Audience is LAME
I just can't listen to this anymore after what happened to my Dwayne. How date they glorify heroin. Damn you Kevins.
*wtf you are talking about*
*They are all into veganism and no alcohol and no drugs in this live show*
