fun fact: theres an inside joke in the pgr community that kuro games tries keeping you from spending on the game because the store doesnt work half the time
The weirdest thing about the performance bugs is: they dont seem to be hardware based, on neither phone or pc, its almost random. The game is completely unplayable on my galaxy S24+, but my girlfriend can run it just fine on her S24
It runs fine on my (high end) PC, but a friend of mine who has even better specs constantly gets lag spikes.
The CN community has found a really funny fix for pc tho, Genshin is so well optimised, that if you run it together with Wuthering waves it will make WuWa run better
If that's true that's hilariously ironic 😂
@@melaniabladeofmiquella its real, genshin and HSR clear all accumulated memory/cache in the graphic card regularly, helping WuWa's performance
Wait what's the fix
@@azuremoon4754 Just have genshin or star rail open in the background
@@spardos405 is this real? Won't the graphics card heat up or something?
Lets be honest, the elemental system not being as "complex" as GI for example is an absolute win. The fact I have to play certain characters on my account to not sweat my ass on an overworld boss is something I can absolutely miss.
i mean , its a game made for the core audience which are children ofc there is nothing complex or hard in the game , it is what it is
@@izzux2121 wuthering waves for *children??* i think you have the audiences mixed up
Being a physics nerd, I now feel like a complete dumbass for needing to have it pointed out to me that WuWa's magic system is based in string theory. I love the idea of string theory and I love music! How the hell did I not realize this myself!?
Been doing some world quests and ohh boy they're great. The Mourning Aix story is one of my favorite so far. It's also lore-rich. They're also not dragged-out and not very long. The Tiger's maw though requires actual waiting time.
One thing I must say though the environment design and environmental story-telling is absolutely impeccable. Like seriously, most regions I went to while doing the world quests involved a dynamic environment where it changes after the quest. The skybox is insanely immersive.
You know they did a great job with the world design when a post-apocalyptic world feels so much more alive than other games which aren't post-apocalyptic. By more alive, I just don't mean scattered NPCs and monsters to kill. There's actual overworld activity. You randomly spot factions fighting each other. You see soldiers capturing exiles. Or soldiers running and couriers walking to deliver stuff. There's also one scene where I found unalived exiles just to find out that they were unalived by a fractsidus member on the top of the cliff. Like I said, great environmental storytelling.
My only criticism as a lore buff is the lack of codex and the over-world literature is scarce. They do exist, like that one note leaving a location got a free weapon. But I want more.
Don't mind the toxic Genshin people aster. I myself am a Genshin lore buff and what they done in WW is great. Not perfect but it has great potential especially for a new game with a reputation that it's combat-first ñore-second kinda game which to me is bs. All RPGs should compliment combat and lore/story without compromise.
Kuro you know you fked up when even a lorekeeper can't keep up with your terminology
New channel 'Kill with Aster' incoming?
Anyway, glad to see you enjoy WuWa! I'm waiting for the technical bugs to be ironed out personally. It's fun enough, but the slowdown gets really annoying after a while.
My 5 reasons to play Wuthering Waves:

It looks good, but I think I will break my pc or my phone if I attemp to play it.
The lore of this game has so much potential. It was shown around Act IV onwards. I even prefer this more than Honkai Starrail. Really looking forward for lore content creators to dive through Wuthering Waves in the future!
I enjoyed the game so far, my only criticism of it is the performance issues for sure, everyday I log in to see if I can finally play the game normally but still having loadings taking 2 to 3 minutes, sudden stuttering, and so on, I think it's a problem with the serves not being able to handle the amount of players, and since my country doesn't have a proper server (Latan problems lol), the only thing I can do is keep waiting for them to fix it.
That's absolutely wild to me as I'm literally playing WuWa on a potato (almost seven years old PC that didn't even hit the minimum system requirements). I did have massive problems on day 1 tho. Game was unplayable due to lag. I uninstalled from HDD and re-installed on SSD and lowered graphic settings and I can pretty much play it normally.
I am not touching the game until 1.1, which is ample for Kuro to fix EVERYTHING if they truly want to compete with Hoyoverse's Genshin. And if not ALL bugs are fixed despite it being a month? Why would anybody to download it.
Believe it or not, I care about EVERYONE having a smooth experience when updates drop. Newcomers falling behind due to issues that spawn from a rushed Kuro isn't fair. Gacha already isn't fair, we don't need another level of RNG.
ma man , it not only already competes with hoyo , it makes them shit in their pants hahha and thats with scuffed AF launch and MANY people on phone cant even play

welcome to a new Era
@@izzux2121
Nope
The charts are already out
But… Let’s delay this discussion
The next month will reveal everything
Wuwa having finished a whole patch
Genshin having a patch with two new characters
Wuthering waves is such a good game. I cant imagine going back to genshin now without the parkour system
i tried logging on genshin today after playing WuWa since release havent played genshin for over a year , lasted 3 minutes then i uninstalled it now finally haha its a joke if you compare the gameplay directly , genshin has no leg to stand on , compared to wuwa feels genshin like a real mobile game
Will the game be playable on a private server with mods? I may consider playing it, when this will be possible.
My question is relative to Genshin how is the grinding loop? Is it easy to get level up materials and character enhancements? Does level and enemy scaling punish players who aren't conscious of optimization? This is the main reason I fell out of Genshin, because not playing major quests becomes a drag imo, be it playing through sidequests and being unable to skip dialogue or not being able to get level up materials efficiently without paying money. I think Star Rail does this really well, which is how I've stuck with that game, and I think this attribute has been the stick in the mud for this game that makes me hesitant to play it because the combat looks so much fun
PSA: Take this comment with a grain of salt because it's not based on my personal experience, just what I've heard from others :)
Since it's only been ~a week since release most people are still in early-mid game.
But from what I've heard from content creators or people who speedran to endgame there are some glaring issues such as:
-everything costs too much resin and doesn't provide enough materials to compensate.
-the echo rng is horrible and level up materials are rather scarce.
-u don't need to pull for "meta" characters if u have enough skill.
-doing chores like farming require ur full attention, which might get tedious after a while, since I assume ur used to auto-farming in HSR lol
But other than that I've only heard major positives about the movement and combat (ignoring the bugs and glitches).
The story is mostly skippable (side quests can be skipped ENTIRELY) if that's what you are interested in too.
Hope this didn't come across as too negative and helped. I highly recommend you try the game and see for yourself if you like it, u can always uninstall if not :))
When the main quest started to get a bit too dense, I just went on an overworld spree as a change of pace.
Worked pretty well, though I'm now at a point where I need to get moving on the story so I can unlock gold echos 😅
I feel it's so wild nowadays we have to justify why we play what games to other people.
The echoes are SO MUCH better than artifacts.
They're not... They really are not. Either you are still in early game or you don't know just how horrible the rng system is just yet.
Arguably the echo system is worse than both genshin and star rail and that's saying something.
@@mayavil they are much better , only "bad" thing is that u need to spend waveplate / resin to rng upgrade ur for free without spending any resin echoes , but if we call that the "bad" thing , genshin or HSR artifact farmen is then the WORST thing ever , since u cant even get the RNG roll for a mostly bad artifact without even spending resin / energy
idk what u on about , genshin / hoyo shill or not , i can assure you .. the artifact system is not even comparable to WuWas Echo system , it sucks much more haha and that comes from a guy who wasted about idk 100k resin on only bad artifacts?? kek
@@izzux2121 I'm gonna ignore ur snarky tone and give you a rational explanation, even though I'm sure you have made up your mind and it doesn't matter what I say, because I'm apparently a "hoyo shill" in your mind.
Yes u can infinitely farm +0 echoes, but getting the right main stat along with the correct set bonus is very grindy.
Say even if u do manage to get lucky and get the perfect main stat+set bonus you need a LOT of echo exp (resin gated) to level it up. BUT even after leveling it, u can't see the substats and need to spend tuners (even more resin gated) to see if it's sub stats are even decent.
In genshin you can immediately see if an artifact is worth your time and trash/lock it, but in wuwa u can't until u level+tune it (which both need tons of resin)
Also the substat rng is much worse because there's a lot more useless substats, it's something insane like 14 layers of rng deep to get a perfect echo.
And here comes the worst part, u can't feed leveled useless echoes into another one. Also the amount of tuners+echo exp u get from tacet fields (which cost a whole 60 resin) is very very low considering the resin cost.
The blue and purple tuners are absolutely worthless and u can't even convert them into gold ones. The data-merge (or strongbox) system is there but again, it's not enough.
PS. I'm aware that the Dev's are currently working on optimizing the echo system more and that's amazing of Kuro games to listen to feedback, but this comment is about the current echo system.
for betterment of Genshin, i must support other game with similar genre.
WuWa? yes
and in future Azure promillia, absolutely yes.
the more competitor the better.
6:56 As a game designer, I can tell that this games aren't similar - it's basically 1 to 1, where the entire system gets taken with barely a couple of numbers changed in the process xD It's not a dealbreaker for me personally and they obviously added some systems of their own, but it still should be acknowledged
I don't have a PC that can handle this game, I don't know if it's fixed? But when playing on phone the shooting puzzle control is crap, it's too shaky! 20 tries I just keep running out of time to finish.

As the game still has issues playing on my laptops I haven't been able to enjoy it as much. When I get those brief periods of smooth running the combat is decent. I think I am on act 4(pushed through the lags and freezes by playing other games on different devices at the same time). I could barely tell you what is happening in the story though. Hopefully more fixes come soon as I keep hearing mostly good stuff(at least about the mechanics) and I just want try some proper overland traversal.
My favorite thing in wuwa is that scene with Camellya. Absolute insanity, especially if you play female Rover.
It's fun
All very valid reasons. Agree with all the positives findings. Personally I find the story telling element kind of lacking. I do not yet feel drawn to the characters as much... but time will tell how it unfolds.
its the dodge button for me...and the mens 💖
This video basically says "genshin could naver"😂 especially the dev team that cares about the player
I've been enjoying WuWa as well! Next thing I know I have been playing for hours. I did not think I will do movements in this game like I did with Apex Legends haha. I do hope that they work on better localizations and writing their story in a way that's not so cumbersome. (Looking at you Act I and II)

Wuwa sephiroth kept me Locked in this game /j
I like the combat
Not until they add BT controller support. Touch screen with this game is terrible.
Am I the only one who switched the Q and R button function? Lol, bcs, u know. Elemental Burst = Resonance Liberation.
But, yeah. Genshin has simple combat style, while WuWa is more deep. I like both of them.
I kept them on R because im a league of legends player
I switched them too.
You're my type of nerd. I'm gonna keep an eye out for you (casually subscribes)
Many of the bugs and problems present at launch were already in the Betas but instead of fixing them and ensuring that the game was ready to be played they rushed the launch, so it's less that they are "listening to the community" and more that they are bribing the playerbase with free stuff to divert attention from the problem.
Yeah, its really odd. Even a friend of mine who is a massive kuro stan agrees with me that the game needed a CBT3 but they probably got pressured by their investors (tencent) to release the game quicker. I personally haven't even found this many bugs on ToFs release and that game was a complete mess.
Theres text errors in every other interface, some enemies are just unkillable, cutscenes sometimes just dont show up, the game crashes when you teleport across the whole map sometimes, and so on.
There has also apperently been an issue where Lingyang had a 50% probability to show up, which explains why I got him on the starter limited AND standard banner.
All of that not to mention the fact that the game bricked a ton of devices in China because of an issue with the CN version, I don't think what we got are appropriate compensations, but rather a desperate effort from them to cover up all the unacceptable issues the game has this far.
Feels like you're intentionally interpreting malice where it is unfounded. New games often have bugs, even games that fully release all at once like BG3 and Elden Ring. Attributing malice to bugs existing just because they're compensating us is odd
@@evantheatheistbut when those bugs where reported in a beta is another thing man
@@evantheatheist That's not what they're doing. Kuro Games undeniably had knowledge of these bugs because they were reported to them extensively in CBT2. Rather than fixing those, they rushed to release, and that release was plagued by nearly all of the same bugs that players had reported in the beta tests months ago. If a game has severe bugs that affect a massive portion of the playerbase and the devs know about it from their beta tests, then them choosing to rush release with those bugs still in the game can and arguably should be interpreted negatively. This game plainly wasn't ready for release, and Kuro had that information.
Also, let's not pretend that BG3 and Elden Ring, two extremely polished games on release, were anywhere near the mess that this release is. That's just disingenuous, and does a disservice to the devs of those games who actually released a polished game in a working state.
@@evantheatheist I'm not saying they had malice, just that many are confusing "generosity" with "need". They're not giving away all this free stuff out of the kindness of their hearts, but because they NEED to do it to hold onto the playerbase, especially with ZZZ and Natlan coming in to suck up all the attention
And it's one thing for the game to come out with some problems and another for it to be literally unplayable for a large part of the community.
I liked your video, your style, and honest so much I subscribe after this first videos, something I have never done before. I enjoyed your content and am looking forward for more in the future future.
If you like killing things💀
But still give it a try!
Fair and balanced review. Great game, not as lore rich at the moment anyway, with some lag issues for sure, but the combat is 👍👍👍👍
I see people complain about performance and bugs a lot (new game so... Not surprised). But you cought my intrest at lore potential (esp Chinese based). And I like the visuals... So... Bit later I'll try 😊

Oh, wait a minute. Thr game is owned by Tencent?! I never knew that.
Well, definitely not a good start
Who cares

@@zeketheweak5049 People who don't want their data stolen by an evll corporation working for a commie regime.
who or what is that
Hi Aster. I'm early today. Lmao.
Hi, IMO I agree with the combat being good and that you feel more enticed to go and kill things because of echoes. It's a bit like a moster catching mechanic which to me is a possitive and give the game something more unique to do.
Now other than that I disagree a bit with the exploration. I feel that the design of the world is too plain. I haven't had a "oh, that looks interesting, let's explore" I've been running to unlock waypoints and I do get sidetracked by chests. But only by chests and monsters. I know this is 1.0 but I do hope they get more wild and creative with area design because this, right now is really boring to watch.
The story is not going good IMO, Genshin has some rocky storytelling moments but even the little interactions tend to be taken with more care. For example: you're not a dumb dude that goes along with any random group of people that happened to be there when you awakened and started throwing terms left and right. You were starting your journey with a little fairy who you casually catched from the sea and who teach you how to talk. There was a reason for the traveller to follow Paimon. I know is the start of the story, but if they are this careless in the moments they need to get a strong grip on the player I don't know if they'll ever get good. I've seen a lot of people talking about Act III and I've realized I'm in act V rigth now and haven't seen the improvement everyone is talking about. The Scar cinematic is good but the same as the overall story, it felt unearned.
So RN I like the combat but dislike exploration and story, and those two are more important to me than combat. The bugs and optimization are awful, so I'll most likely drop it once the gifting season ends.
And on the topic of the hefty compensations, they were doing it because they needed to retain players. Had they not give the ten pull and the selector, A lot of people would have drop it because it felt like a rushed game. They are the challenger, they needed to. Not because they are so giving and they are going to do so everytime. They needed to just to be able to compete and not drawn in their decission of releasing a rushed and unpolished product (I don't blame them, I wouldn't want to lunch at the same time as Natlan). Lately they've been giving more common 1 pull compensations and I think that's the most you should expect going forward.
Anyways, my name is Jorge and thank you for ranting with me :P
I can’t play it on PC at all, despite Genshin running on good settings. And yes, the first 2 hours almost made me quit. Then it’s better😂
i think my main problem is GOD it does not run on phone well and it lags so damn much. my phone is an iphone 12, its not even dated and its so BADDD to play compared to genshin.
I’m running it on m4 iPad at max settings, and yet the game still looks bad with low res textures and lods in close range, and still has frame hiccups, despite the iPad barely breaking a sweat. Meanwhile, I can run Genshin at max settings 120 fps with no frame drops, and the iPad warms up a tad, but not badly. So in short, Genshin uses the hardware and wuwa doesn’t.
Yooo I'm early
I make fun of this games lore a lot but i do think presentation in 1.0 aside TotallyNotTheHonkai has a lot of potential. I do wish game was clearer on its in-world mechanics tho. I was so confused when u find a nice TD monkey for a blue quest. Like wdym its nice. Were all the monkeys nice once? Should i fel bad for them? I dont. If they didnt want to be farmed they wouldnt be carrying loot.
its definitelyyyy not honkai/j LOL i didn’t realize until now how the story concept is basically just battling honkai and the “enemy”side causing a calamity it even has catastrophic effects on the environment just by invading the area lol
I dropped the game. While that sound based lore intrigued me, Combat was too sweaty for my casul heart. Story is lame but I won't spoil it. And music, aı hate the music that plays in the city ugh
Ok cool, but how much did they pay you for this video? /j

I can at least say that it looks like they are fixing the optimization. Yesterday I was able to play smoothly on Max setting with no lag spikes. Prior to yesterday it felt unplayable on the lowest settings and I really don't know why I even kept trying to be honest but looks like it was worth it.
I have been addicted to wuthering waves for a while now.. my pc and i pad runs real fine without any problem.. the only trouble i have is when my internet derp when i fight the hologram thing so i died.. wish they pause the game when reconnecting but other than that, its incredible!
i feel like the open world in wuwa is very lifeless, no music, looks empty and depressing, compared to genshin (during release). ive never cared for combat i j want it to be doable (for me it means i can clear overworld usin any character i like, idc for abyss) i care about the music the scenery and the lore. i also felt like the characters had no charisma, an the game was very laggy
My biggest problem with the game is its glaring localization issues, especially in the English translation which does not do the story any justice. As a lore enjoyer, reading item descriptions, texts, and character dialogues has been a pain for me personally with all the typos and misused words. It's the thing that drives me insane the most. And before someone says it, yes, I've contacted feedback at least 15 times with different typos and mistakes... They have not answered once.
Also, on another note about the lore, a lot of items don't even have a description nor do they add anything interesting to the world. They just say ''crafting material/cooking material'' and that's it. NPCs also don't say anything relevant at all, with very little room to theorize and speculate which is a shame. Furthermore, there aren't almost any scattered texts or bits of information in the open world. Overall, I think they kinda neglected the lore and world or maybe I'm just spoiled by Genshin's incredible worldbuilding...
Also, a red flag for me as a lore enjoyer is that they are adding a skip button next update to EVERYTHING, which on the one hand is a good QoL for a second account replayability, but it also kinda of makes me think they aren't really confident enough in their storytelling. A big part of that lack of self-confidence in their own work is also shown by the fact that they had to rewrite half of the initial story due to some minor negative feedback.
Overall, I'm enjoying the game, especially the combat but am kinda disappointed with the story/world-building atm.
Idc about genshins story or this story, if skipping cutscenes if a red flag for you, that says more about you than the story... At least Aster is concise, if there is something I want to know it isn't 5 hours of the most boring waffle I've ever had the misfortune of hearing.
@@melaniabladeofmiquella So are you here just to reply to every comment criticizing the game trying to be a white knight or? Try making an excuse for this then:
The localization and translation issues are so bad it is actually inexcusable. And no, I'm not talking about impractical names or misused words only, the entire translation has been rushed (probably through translators or AI). From the quests to the items descriptions to even UI sometimes.
My game is in french and let me tell you the translation is so atrocious to a point you can feel insulted by the lack of care. And I heard similar things for german and spanish users.
To give you an idea of how bad it is, in the login screen below the ID and password it says "Conenxion" instead of "Connexion". It's the first screen you see as a new player and there is already a dumb mistake that could have been easily avoided if they hired proof readers. (And it's still not fixed btw, not that I expect anything in 6 days but come on it's on the login screen ..)
Also anytime you encounter an accent you can expect a space between letters. For instance, the word "même" (french word for same) the game will display "m ê me" and it does that for every word containing an accent (basically 1/3 or 1/4 of french langage).
And it pains me to say all that because I genuinely like the game and I hope it can succeed but Kuro seems to do its best to avoid this possibility.
I will say, while Im not a lore reader by any extent, I did stumble on a rather big issue.
(SPOILER C1A4!!!)
During the time we were interrogating Scar, he said to us, that they WANT for us to join the organization, BUT, the subtitles stated that they NEED us....
THE IMPLICATIONS OF THOSE WORDS ARE VERY DIFFERENT, WHY DID THEY ACT AS IF THOSE ARE SYNONYMS OF ONE ANOTHER, AND DIDN'T FIX IT?!
@lubo4350 bruh I made two comments, one refuting your BS cutscene argument and another saying the game has a lag issue. Hello are you normal? What's this essay lmfao
7:01 what echo is this? I wanna play as a car XD
You don't need a reason to play Aster. Don't feel pressured or anything. If you like it, then play it. It's simple as that

The story gets so much better and much more interesting once Scar shows up like I'm not even joking with that statement
Imagine foul legacy echo in genshin
The straight up plagiarism is hilarious. Verina literally does nahidas little skipping and winking animations and ends it with making a frame out of her fingers
GI is the incarnation of plagiarism haha
@@izzux2121Not really. Maybe it was at the lauch when it copied BOTW, but let's be honest, every open world game at the time copied BOTW. Genshin has definitely carved out it's own niche since.
@@mihacimpric745 straight up yes ... thats a crucial part which genshin kids wanna ignore , the base game / idea / map and graphics +combat in general was all just plagiarised from BOTW and from that on the built the out , sure nowadays it has its own identity ( would be very sad if not ) but that doesnt change the fact that the whole game at the beginning was straight up copy paste with some chinese flair and some ugly ass charcters ( yes 1.0 characters were incredible ugly , if u combare GI vs WuWa release genshin looks like a Gamecube game vs WuWa ( still does tbh )
@@izzux2121 A lot of what you said is clouded in personal bias. You are also comparing games that were released 4 years from each other. Of course the newer one looks better. It's like comparing Far Cry 4 and 5, that were released in the same timeframe. The newer one looks better, because the technology has advanced.
And sorry, combat? Genshin combat works on an entirely different principle than BOTW.
@@mihacimpric745 thanks for the answer , you proved my point ! Cheers mate
Personally, I think listening to the player base is a very bad thing most of the time, You have the rewriting of the story which made characters became more soulless.
The CN and KR players are known for being very sensitive when it comes to "bad attitude" characters. Western players seem to only care about rewards. It all just limits the vision of the game and probably makes the devs feel terrible with all the restrictions,
It's another incident of incels ruin everything. A someone who is part of neither of the areas or groups, I dislike the desperate part of the community more. It's straight up delusions.
Take notes, Genshin Impact.
I play Genshin, HSR and now WuWa. I like all of them. The problem I have is whenever I play WuWa right before Genshin I forget that I can't parkour in Genshin and don't have a grapple and all movement feels kinda slow. 🥲
