Josh! Your reviews are most excellent my friend. I have been a Macross collector for a very long time. Your reviews are un-biased and to the point and I love that. How can I join Collection DX to share my collection?
Even though the Yamato are more accurate I really gotta give it to the revoltechs for being so poseable and dynamic whilst smaller and chaper. I happen to like smaller figures too. I'd say the GNU look good for display but revoltech are just meant for playing with. The possibility of swapping parts is a fun pandora's box too.
hey man could you put the link to "angles" place qhere you get your fugures and stuff, or better put the link to all of the companies where you get your stuf, please..pretty please!! .....jejejje thanks
In macross pluss episode four where Guld and Isamu fight in th ecity, Isamu yells "shut up" and uses a chi like blast with his hands to blow Guld and the YF 21 back. Thats what the little green burst barrier system effects represent. Cool.
I just picked these up. I love the YF-21, but the YF-19 suffers from sloppy paint on the head with one of the head arrows being shorter than the other and the paint on the guns on the sides of the face being overly applied. It's also disappointing that the armor parts for the -19 aren't even the right color. Why Kaiyodo didn't stick with the original olive green is beyond me. And they should be taller than the Revoltech VF-1 figures, too, so they are of a smaller scale. Major letdown.
Nice! These figures sure beat Yamato's 1/60 transformable version, which are plastic, made of loose joints, and very delicate to transform. Never liked the gerwalk mode (except for original VFs), and for fighter mode, I'lll stick with Doyusha's miniature die-cast models.
I like the GN-U much better than the revos. The revos are too small. Its kinda like you wont notice them if you displayed them with the SOCs. I think GN-Us just a little shorter than the SOC Mazinger Z. Its much better to display them together. Just wish GN-Us are shinier.
"very very different height..." ? They are of different scale dude. The revoltech figures uses a very cheesy body curvature design among all their figures and loses the real geist in the original anime designs. The animated transformers are also too stylized and slick to feel like those solid robots like the G1.

I just bought these two bad boys, they're awesome. Kaiyodo is high quality, just like their fist of the north star figures
I ve bought the revoltechs so far. Yeah the guard my Macross collection.
I'm hoping these are close to 1/144 scale, any chance you would throw a ruler up to one and measure CM to the eyes or crest of the head?

i have a question.
since g1 jetfire was a valkerie, shouldn't these be able to transform as well? or am i just dumb for not knowing anime?
I concur. The most one could pay for a Revoltech is around $25, not including shipping.
Those are really slick!

I don't collect MGS toys, but I checked out Shannon Jimenez Rojo's review of the 7" figures and unfortunately they weren't too favorable.
I like the ones that can transform from the different forms
Why didn't you show the Revoltech's poseability?
Wow...where can i get those...it surely expensive..so sad i dont have much money (T_T)
Still own them.? If so how have they held up?
they disintegrated.
I like the Revoltech version better, it has FAST Packs and it has exaggerated proportions, gives character.
I basically love them!

I just got those three macross GNU figs since they were on sale. I have to say. They make better toys than the revs in terms of build quality.

@Returntothere
Ah, thanks for the lesson! ^_^
Maybe a transforming Revoltech YF-19 is too complex unlike the VF-1 figures.
dude these look so fucking bad ass! i gotta buy me these :D
If i would buy all the Macross and Patlabor stuff i would like to buy, i would need 2 or 3 jobs lol
@nightslash3535 They should make a transforming revoltech vf-17.
i think you meant "virgin"
Revoltechs aren't expensive at all. They're cool but not transformable. U can get them for no more than 20 box each.
i doubt it, im pretty sure he got him self a nice good looking nerdy chick :)
