The only thing that could’ve ended the set better was when the voice says “we’re sorry, due to high call volume, we’re unable to answer your call. Please try again later. Goodbye.”

If they prerecord their set and play it to the wrong crowd its game over for them.
Also prerecording sets is a huge no no in more underground scenes as people would notice it and would stop listening to you

Well, the UK does pride itself on their shit customer service. So nice change of pace I guess...

This proves a few things I learned about party/club DJing long time ago
1 - play popular music, their music.
2 - (optionally) work on transition
3 - have fun
People at clubs are most likely inebebriated, having fun and wants to dance.
as a usually inebebriated clubgoer, i can attest to this
As someone mildly inebriated watching this, I thought the whole concept of 'DJ Hold' was great
As a gay Metalhead, I can 100% confirm.
At gay parties they play the same music as in all those mainstream clubs that I would never ever go to and I often don't find a beat with stuff, so I can't dance to it.
So because I don't feel 99% of the music they play, I always go absolutely wild when they play a song that would normally make me cringe to death. Like I may hate this song, but at least I know it!
So yeah, I'd rather hear effin Barbie Girl or even Justin Bieber, than some shit I don't know.
As someone with a decent taste for music who likes dancing: NO.

Having been placed on hold with CVS multiple times, I'm astounded to learn some companies play hit songs and not just random instrumentals that sound like they were recorded on a brick and played back on a frequency that would make dogs howl.
As a touring DJ of 13 years, I can confidently say this is the best set prep ever 👌🏼

The fact that a lot of DJs in my local city do this for their sets with edits of classics just to fuck the crowd up before it drops into Riddim or Jump-Up kind of made this seem like a tutorial to DJing in general, except I'd like to hope half the people in my city actually mix 😂

I used to work for a company that made these on hold compilations, and I’d have to actually make these calls as my job and ask to be put on hold - people either thought it was funny, or thought I was running some sort of scam and called their manager 😂.

I've once called IKEA and was on hold for so long that I've discovered that they have a thing for ABBA and Queen. If you call them and get put on hold you'll see that they always play an ABBA song (always Mamma Mia first), followed by a Queen song (probably Bohemian Rhapsody), followed by another ABBA song and the cycle goes on forever in that exact order until they pick up again, some songs even repeat. I was on hold for a total of about 6 songs (3 of each, some were long ones too) or maybe even more, I was there for so long that I could have lost track after the 6th song

Its a little known trick to slip in tracks from adverts and whatnot. They’re the earwig tracks that your brain subconsciously picks up but doesn’t complete, or even fully register, but when they come on, you switch on to them. Works a treat.

I was once put on hold by a taxi company that had it’s own song that was like a childish rock song (kind of like cartoon opening like?) shouting the company’s name and when I got back to the person I could barely contain my laughter, it was bad
