Got a 1980 Porsche 924 Turbo recently. Was sitting in a field. No title, traded for and 86 Dodge truck I had. Giving me the motivation to get her running. Great video. Suscribed
Just amazing. I was impressed with your vacuum system troubleshooting skills on the thunderbird. Now I am impressed with your ability to tackle anything. the fuel injector system and then also taking the exhaust apart to find the rattle. and then rewarding it back. Lol. I only recently found your videos but I am enjoying them a lot.
Great job. Road trip soon with it? Love the scenery of your state. Impressed with your tenacity as well to find and fix classics (oh, and I liked the scalpel)
Thanks man! It's a suction cup, and a small irrigation sprinkler head hooked up to the garden hose with a little on/off valve. Maybe $10 in parts from Home Depot!
Hey! love the Porsche thinking of getting one myself. You said you needed a better mic but if you're using a GoPro try a stick on fo fur type of material to put over it instead should reduce the wind disturbance. Love the content, keep it up.
Looks like that catalytic converter got the all too common broom handle treatment but the carriers for the catalyst honeycomb were left behind to rattle.
@@AutoAnatomy the story was told that it could still pass emissions tests in all states except possibly CA after giving the Cat a good sweep. Not sure how true that was.
Really good job . Comming back from my summer hollidays i had a look to mine 924 turbo I let it in my garage since Many year The motor is locked lot if work for me but thanks to you i want do it
Dont let it coke up if you drive more than fifteen .minutes do snobby thing let it idle one minute then shut off ..electrical clean the five ground points one engine bay three under dash..last is just above rear lights other wise your lights will act wierd...tach will go insane. And even wipers will go on for no reason
I would love to repaint it a different color, but that would mean door jambs and under hood. I think I'll just repaint it the factory "Indiana Red Poly". What wheels do you think would look good on the car?

Awesome Shaun! sorry if I spelled yor name wrong. :( Im looking into buying a 924 Turbo, I hve learned a lot so far. Ill be looking on in the future for sure.
@@AutoAnatomy Ill keep my eyes open for those parts, I am an active seller on ebay @ www.ebay.com/usr/5cyl.audiquattro.. Im an Audi guy but always looking at 924 parts aswell You know the 80s Porsche -Audi connection. I moved to Arizona 3 years ago from Manitou Springs, CO.
do you remember what Inside diameter Vacuum hoses you used? and what gauge wires you used to rebuild the starter wires? The 924 turbo i bought, only had power on the dash once then it didnt anymore, it doesn't crank when i turn the key, but if I jump the starter directly it cranks. Do you think it could be the wiring?
Lots of questions there... 1. Most of the smaller vacuum lines were 3/32”, but some are 5/32” 2. I used 10g wire 3. Lots of things could be wrong, but I would start at the starter wiring. Power goes from the battery to the starter, up to the alternator. There’s also two large red wires that come directly from the battery that power the fuse box. Have you checked the fuses?
love the videoes th anks for your help got my 79 924 ready for the road problem now is i dont have title for it spoke to dmv says my vin number is in complte i only have 10 digits on car they said they need 17 do you know anything about this
So glad your car is up and running, and thank you! Modern VIN have 17 digits but older cars don’t. I’ve never had an issue with any of my older cars getting a title. Sounds like you may need to speak with someone else at the DMV.
Hi greats from Germany , well done job . But you know that is only a normal 924 with an motor change ? The real turbo has 5 hole rims , yours only 4 hole . Find a 924s or an 944 who is crashed for change it , than you have a real turbo. With changing u will uprade the breaks , they ar better . Manny replacement for your car u will find by VW (RABBIT) and so on , they ar cheeper :) Hope it will help you , Ralph PS fuc. change the speedometer this car will drive more then 220km/h , the normal reach 205km/h and not 140km/h like yours :)
Actually, it is a genuine 924 turbo. The early cars (79-80) were four lug and didn’t change to 5 lug until late 1980. Most of the 1980 cars had the 5-lug option but this one does not, which actually makes it more unusual (I won't say rare). All 1981-up 924 turbos were 5-lug.
I love your 924 Turbo videos. All very familiar problems I went through the past 5 years with my own 924 Turbo.
Thank you so much!

Early 79-80 924 turbos had 4-lug. By 1981, all were 5 lug
