Mike I disagree on the announcing. Dreu is a really good professional talent but the level of insight from Beau and Candace was exceptional. Candace is truly one of the best analysts out there (for obvious reasons). At times it felt like the energy was manufactured - as if the broadcast was aiming to have every buoy crackle with the excitement of a 14-person hammer buoy turn at Doheny, circa 2016. Im biased towards insight over energy. Again, Dreu is really good - I've called races before and it is way harder than it might seem - but his technique knowledge isn't on par with the other commentators.

I should have validated Candice insight and this by all means did not should have taken away from her. Maybe her and Dreu would be the best combo. I felt like the juniors had more energy, there were 2 spills at the first buoy in the men final and it was pretty much unnoticed. Kind of need a good combo of both. IMO. On the other hand , tech talk is also part of the game but I would like to hear it maybe afterwards like a post race analysis with replays and slow motion etc. Like in F1 , the strict tech talk comes afterwards in different video. On the starting line you need to hear EMOTIONAL commentary ! Dreu is the man for that 100%.
