Wow!! I have not wanted to get into gel press until seeing you use it. Then the doodling!! I didn't care for the print on the left until you finished it. This is an art form I could get started in. New subscriber here!
outstanding!! Revisiting this a year later and it's as fresh and fun as then...finally got some art gear out of storage including gell plate. All feels brand new. Thx
Wow, wow, wow! Your "sea creatures" are alive with so much movement. Love that you intertwine Zentangle with other mediums. Can't wait to see the next video.
OmD - You are awesome! I have wanted to zentangle forever, but just struggled to even get started for some reason & could never get beyond the start. But I started with a similar shape to the internal squiddy type creature and quickly found it possible to branch out & make it my own :-D And that's without some gel painted background handy (although can't wait to do that)
I freaking love it! When I first saw your zentangle videos last year, i was hooked, and now i love the gel press. These two things together are so much fun and will be creating these in my own art journal. thanks so much Amber!
Amber, you are creating a monster. I started Tangling because of you and now I have to get a gel plate. I love the look and I want to pet it too!! Thank you for keeping my creative juices flowing beyond the boundaries
Very very cool. I’ve only used my gel press with inks… I’m going to order some acrylics and give it a go. Absolutely love the look! Thanks again for the inspiration!
I love the combination of gel press and tangling! I am enjoying them myself in the last weeks. Thank you so much for sharing, Amber. I'd love to see more of this.
@@NotableInk i do....im new to gel press and love it. I love zentangle but I don't love when I do it lol I like what uve created so well done 👏 crafters companion have brought out a line of lots of colour of acrylic pens, ive not tried but they look interesting
Ooh cool idea! I have this stamp/die set and will give this a go. Thanks! Oops this goes to a different video that I can’t find now…..here it is block die cutting.
Outstanding video! THANK YOU for doing this is in real time...I feel this is so essential to learning. Your style and commentary is excellent...could watch and listen to you for a long time! Zentangle fascinates me, BUT I really can't draw and I just couldn't bear to futz around on a beautiful gel print and mess it up! Yours of course, looks dynamic....
Thanks so much, Marilyn! That's great feedback about the real time. I did take a deep breath before drawing on the print. But, typically mistakes can be fixed so you just gotta go for it.
Sooooo cool! I'm so bad at gel prints and acrylic. I've watched every beginner video read all the tips and I get yuck results. So I've decided just to admire other's work. LOL.
Oh, no. I hope you don’t give up on it. Once you get the hang of thin layers of paint, letting the layers dry, and pulling the print when the last thin layer is still wet it’s a blast. But, yeah I guess there are some steps in there, LOL!
This was one of my all time fav videos! I’m new to your site and I just subbed. Thank you for soooo much Inspiration. Your creativity and passion shine through! ❤
Love both pages, but I am drawn to the one on the right. The drawings look like jelly fish or perhaps the sting ray. I love watching you create and I have a daughter that has phenomenal tangles she has created. She use tnis medium with her ADHD students and it is amazing to see them calm down.
This is a wonderful series, Amber, thank you so much. I just spent a month doing Zentangles, and now I need a next step. Plus, i have one of those horizontal watercolor books that I’ve had for years and it only has swatches in it. So I’m gonna get out my 5x7 plate today and play.
Beautiful work, love your gel prints. It’s so addictive! Thanks for the pen advice, I’ve ruined nibs using the wrong combo. YES, an octopus shape is exactly I saw even in the thumbnail! Loved this video!
Thanks so much! Ah, I've ruined some nibs too. Sometimes you can unclog them with a baby wipe, but really I need to wait for paint and alcohol ink to dry. I'm not so patient, lol!
Nice name, but a lot of people have been doodling over painted pages for years... myself included. Awesome tutorial for producing distressed texture. 🙂
@@NotableInk Offend? Oh no, not at all. I like the name... just surprised no one else (that I know of) has coined a term for the process. Hopefully it'll catch on. 🙂
These look amazing! Wow!! Thank your for sharing this technique. I am new at gelli printing and still experimenting. My husband does zentagles, I would ask him to geltangle on my prints. Is that cheating? LOL 😆
Yes, tangling on. Watercolor pages is another of my favorite techniques. Love to add gold and copper watercolor to those or use gold pens. Try a variety of waterproof pens, acrylic pens work well too.
So beautiful. I am not artistic but I love your videos. They make me want to try. You are a wonderful teacher! As a card maker, do you ever use your regular stamp pads with your gel press or do you always use acrylics?
Thanks so much, Ruth! I do use my ink pads sometimes and you can definitely use you clear and rubber stamps too. Here's a video where I compare dye, pigment, and metallic ink pads along with acrylic paint. I prefer the look of acrylic paint, but you can definitely use your ink pads. ruclips.net/video/2SuAGJbFdKg/видео.html
Gorgeous! Gel tangle love it! Amber you mentioned digital stamps, I’m so interested! Are those in the pattern book linked below or are these different? The geltangling is phenomenal! Can’t wait for next week! Have a great day! - June Ps I’m going to watch the last one I missed👍🏼

That background on the right ..l as soon as you put that down, I thought it - by itself - should be hanging in a gallery …. Seriously love it
Thank You. You inspired me I love gelli plate works like yours
Absolutely gorgeous 🤩, I’m so glad I found you 💖
This is beautiful. I love this technique
I love it! I’ve been struggling with watercolor backgrounds, and this seems like a much better way to do it. Thank you!

What a beautiful, exciting combination! Wondering...how did you adhere the gelli press to the acrylic plate? Thanks for your creative inspiration.
Thanks, Mona! The gel plate will stick to the acrylic plate or a glass mat all on its own. Super handy.

Isn’t the first tangle cadent? Loved the gel print/zen tangling combo!! Thanks for the inspiration Amber! 🎉🥰👍🏾
Thanks, Gwen! It’s the same “s” stroke as Cadent. But, cadent is a grid pattern. Grids are not my fave so I like to switch things up.

Funny. I thought of jellyfish. Octopus works 👍
The green/blue background on the right looked like Monet’s water lilies when you pulled the print.
I thought those looked like underwater sea creatures, too! (before you even said it!)

I love Zentangle, but don't seem to have the knack.
Maybe you haven’t found patterns that speak to you yet. I hope you keep trying. Thanks for visiting, Peggy.
