OmD - You are awesome! I have wanted to zentangle forever, but just struggled to even get started for some reason & could never get beyond the start. But I started with a similar shape to the internal squiddy type creature and quickly found it possible to branch out & make it my own :-D And that's without some gel painted background handy (although can't wait to do that)

This is a wonderful series, Amber, thank you so much. I just spent a month doing Zentangles, and now I need a next step. Plus, i have one of those horizontal watercolor books that I’ve had for years and it only has swatches in it. So I’m gonna get out my 5x7 plate today and play.
I have tried zentangle but have yet to breakout my gel plating supplies. Love your technique.
Outstanding video! THANK YOU for doing this is in real time...I feel this is so essential to learning. Your style and commentary is excellent...could watch and listen to you for a long time! Zentangle fascinates me, BUT I really can't draw and I just couldn't bear to futz around on a beautiful gel print and mess it up! Yours of course, looks dynamic....

Sooooo cool! I'm so bad at gel prints and acrylic. I've watched every beginner video read all the tips and I get yuck results. So I've decided just to admire other's work. LOL.
Oh, no. I hope you don’t give up on it. Once you get the hang of thin layers of paint, letting the layers dry, and pulling the print when the last thin layer is still wet it’s a blast. But, yeah I guess there are some steps in there, LOL!
Love both pages, but I am drawn to the one on the right. The drawings look like jelly fish or perhaps the sting ray. I love watching you create and I have a daughter that has phenomenal tangles she has created. She use tnis medium with her ADHD students and it is amazing to see them calm down.

Beautiful work, love your gel prints. It’s so addictive! Thanks for the pen advice, I’ve ruined nibs using the wrong combo. YES, an octopus shape is exactly I saw even in the thumbnail! Loved this video!
Thanks so much! Ah, I've ruined some nibs too. Sometimes you can unclog them with a baby wipe, but really I need to wait for paint and alcohol ink to dry. I'm not so patient, lol!

Thanks, Gwen! It’s the same “s” stroke as Cadent. But, cadent is a grid pattern. Grids are not my fave so I like to switch things up.

So beautiful. I am not artistic but I love your videos. They make me want to try. You are a wonderful teacher! As a card maker, do you ever use your regular stamp pads with your gel press or do you always use acrylics?
Thanks so much, Ruth! I do use my ink pads sometimes and you can definitely use you clear and rubber stamps too. Here's a video where I compare dye, pigment, and metallic ink pads along with acrylic paint. This is a very interesting technique. I have MANY watercolors. Can they be used instead of the acrylic paint?
Yes, tangling on. Watercolor pages is another of my favorite techniques. Love to add gold and copper watercolor to those or use gold pens. Try a variety of waterproof pens, acrylic pens work well too.
