    interesting video thanks for posting, there is a hell of alot of design work gone into that,
    mind boggling really.

      Thank you. Yes so many steps that need to be completed to completely remove the dash.

    Ha! I am doing a Y right now. Doing Every layer of the A-pillar and torque box. Keep it up! Clean work as always.

      Thanks Chris! That doesn't sound fun at all, the structural repairs on the A-Pillars are always huge projects. I've only done the model 3 however. Let me know how the repair goes on the Model Y!

    Awesome work. I wish when I had done it I had removed the passenger and driver seat. It would have made it so much easier! I love how Tesla made them al the same screw

    Tesla service scratched my dashpad while addressing the sound bar cracking noise. They replaced the entire dash. Now I have a more cracking sound when I turn on the AC. My driver seat is also making a cracking sound. Now I have reported a new service appointment. I hope it's just plastic under wood trim.

    Great video! Why did the dash need to be removed?

      Thank you! The Outer A pillar sectioned needed to be replaced, the dash was removed for fire prevention measures with all the resistance spot welding.

      Did you end up getting your hvac module fixed? If so did everything go well? No damages given and no rattles after all the repairs?

    Thank you. I just got a Tesla model 3 for a driving school. Since you took all this apart, would you know if it's safe to drill couple holes under the brake pedal on the floor for 2 screws? and is it safe to drill 1 whole in front of the passenger side seat on the floor?
    I am installing an instructor brake pedal and don't want to hit anything

    • @shawn.collisionrepair
      @shawn.collisionrepair  Год назад +1

      I wouldn’t drill through without disassembling and knowing exactly what’s underneath. There is wiring and high voltage lines that run on the other side.

    Hi does the windscreen need to be removed to remove the dash or can it be done with the windscreen in place? Thanks

    Is that the CPU behind the glove box? At the end of the video there’s a good view. Tesla won’t upgrade my intel atom to the ryzen chip, but if it’s under warranty and something “happens” to it, will they still give me an intel atom as a replacement?

    Yep done this 3 times now not fun hahahha!
    Having the front glass out is a game changer though the first one I did with glass in and had to reach in and unplug speakers from under dash.
    Why did you have to remove the dash in this car are you parting it out?

    • @shawn.collisionrepair
      @shawn.collisionrepair  Год назад +1

      Having the front windshield broken helped so much made the procedure way easier! The outer A pillar section is being replaced so the dash was removed for fire prevention measures with all the resistance spot welding.

    Your car will mostly have a windshield, make sure you have a slim tool for the front dash speakers…

    Hii my friend, can i do it without taking out the the front glass?

    • @shawn.collisionrepair
      @shawn.collisionrepair  Год назад +1

      Yes the dash is able to be removed with the front glass still installed. In this specific repair the front windshield was broken so that's why it was removed.

    is this worth doing for the fan blower ? your opinion or is better paying 1k to tesla

    • @shawn.collisionrepair
      @shawn.collisionrepair  Год назад

      The process to remove the dash is complex and the high voltage system needs to be disabled to take off all the airbags. If you don't have any expeirence working on Tesla's I would pay Tesla the 1k to replace the fan blower.

      The front windshield does not need to be removed to remove the dash. The front windshield was removed because it was broken from the collision damage.
