My wife under going treatment of brest cancer at tata hospital . She diagnosed with metaplastic carcinoma gread 3. Mbr score is 3+3+3=9.tumer size 2.4×1.6×1.6 .ER PR negative . Internal control is positive. Cerb negative score 0 . Tumor is positive for s-100(diffuse). All 10 auxiliary lymp nodes negative 2 frozen lymp nodes also negative for metastasis. Then why graded as grade 3. In this case it is stage 2 or 3 . And what is difference between gread of tumor and stage of cancer
Hey Ganesh, grade and stage are two completely different things. Grade generally defines the aggressiveness of the tumor and stage defines the spread. Your wife's grade could be 3, but her stage looks like 2. So yes, it's local disease completely curable. Almost 80%-90% long term cure is possible.
