What a surprise to see Reggie Watts on one of my fave channels. Been following him since the late 90's in Seattle, watched his band MAKTUB in tiny clubs like the Sit n' Spin. (Get yer minds outta the gutter, it was a laundromat with cafe and club - I miss you old Seattle!). My friends and I said, KEEP YOUR EYES ON THIS GUY, HE'S GOING SOMEWHERE. Congrats on your adventure, Reggie!
Yeah, I totally agree on how most people cannot even embrace it. I was a kid playing air drums, and my parents got me a drum set. But since they went broke soon after, they had to sell it off. I still remember coming back from school and my dad explaining the situation and asking my permission if I would be okay if he sold it.
The first time I saw Reggie he was speaking in a British English accent. It was so good that when he flipped into an American English accent I thought, wow, for a Brit he's really nailing that American accent. Bloke's so talented I suspect there's a fair bit of alien DNA floating around in there somewhere. He can't be entirely human.
'He can't be entirely human'. I know that was not meant in a literal sense but it's a dangerous thing to say about someone who is in fact VERY human. He's here to teach us how to be more humane so that we can all become 'better' humans.
@@spectatormode3234 Being ironic is dangerous? Strewth, what a sheltered life you must have had. (I also don't actually suspect he has alien DNA, just so you know.) And teaching us how to be more humane? I get humanity lessons in spades every day from my wife, my family, and my friends. I don't need Reggie for that. And neither do you. You're overthinking it.
@@kolossimike The fact that I saw the irony in what you said does not mean someone else will. This is the internet and text that was meant ironically without any external signifiers might convey only the literal message. Not to mention that many a genocide was committed on the premise that some people 'aren't entirely human' or worse. There's no need for talking down to me either (the 'sheltered life' and alien DNA part). I've had quite the fucked up life and met many people who could've benefited from Reggie's implicit and explicit life lessons. Some of them are not here anymore. You are right in your last three sentences though. Let's just hope there won't come a time where this isn't overthinking.
Reggie Watts is a great and unique talent, great sense of humour, fabulous mimic and a talented musician to boot, what's not to like about him?. Thanks for posting
Reggie Watts is brilliant. Have been a fan ever since I saw him on YT doing some tech seminar one man show, with his synth and looping pedals. Also saw him live at Union Chapel in Islington, London. Hilarious. But my favourite bit of his is him reading "a very quick tale" on Conan, the entire Kwanzaa bit is funny, but the "quick tale" fast forward speaking and laughing is absolutely brilliant ruclips.net/video/ZrakplFAIQY/видео.html
you tube is the ultamite mirror of seeing artists repeat themselves. i don't think i[ve seen any artist come always be original and never repeat themselves. reggie definitely wins at that

Not many people know, Reggie turned down James Corden 3 times to be band leader for his late late show. Biggest regret ever if Reggie hadn't eventually accepted 😂😂😂
I like Reggie, but I was shocked he didn't seem to realize his experience of having endless resources available because of a booming economy was *not* universal in all public schools in the US during the 80s. Or ever, for that matter.
Brydon appears to be clutching at straws with this guy, why bother with a little known American on these interviews when there’s so many talented people deserving of some publicity from this country?
How entitled! You might not know who Reggie is, but that doesn't mean that he's unknown to the rest of us. I don't watch the Late Late Show, so I was disappointed that was the only real credit Rob gave for him, but I'm a Brit who still knows Reggie and likes him.
Not only Brits enjoy this show, and I'm sure it isn't geared to Brits only.. We all learn about one another, and that's not a bad thing, is it? I didn't know anything about Reggie and now I do and very pleased about too.
Clutching at straws? You are getting it twisted. These guys understand eachother on a level that is nearly incomprehensible for people outside of their field.

reggie is one of the most original artists i've ever seen period. we need more people like him.
Great to see the real talent of the Late Late Show on here, Rob!

I found Reggie via a weed show on RUclips, I love this fella, I actually named my cat after him.

Yes!! Reggie watts!! Been diggin his stuff for many years. On RUclips there's some amazing music he's done.
Rob is such a pleasant interviewer. Love this show.
Reggie is highly underappreciated as a performer.

What I'd give to have a tiny bit of that man's talent with music.
Brilliant!! Thanks!!!
He’s nailed that accent! 👌
Cool interview !!
"It was an absolute pleasure."
How to sum up all these interviews in one line.
Nice one Rob!

I think Reggie is describing Westworld without the robots people haha!
This must have been recorded before James Corden announced that his version of the Late Late Show will ending shortly.
I saw Reggie Watts at the Roundhouse in London, supported by a then unknown Tom Allen (who was also piss funny)
What a long shot.
Invite Sir Anthony Hopkins, please!
Why, can’t we see the whole thing on RUclips? Just 15 minutes. Why? Why Rob, why?
50!

He's 50!?!

There's one thing I'm very dissatisfied re: your show...
Too short. Please consider longer segments.
The long versions are on Spotify. Link in the description.

Isn’t James Corden leaving the show? Just checked. He’s leaving next year.

...help I'm old.
I have to disagree with Rob about Renee Zellwegger I found her accent to be extremely jarring on the ears.
Rob, can you reply to my comment? :)
rubbish
