I Finally Landed a 1080 in 1080 Snowboarding! (And Unlocked Everything!)

- 1080° Snowboarding is a classic N64 title that was recently released on the Nintendo 64 Online service of the Nintendo Switch! However, I've never actually landed a 1080 in the game! If a player is able to land such a trick (as well as perform every other trick in the game at least once), then the player can unlock access to a penguin snowboard. I've never been able to actually play with the penguin snowboard, so today, I decided to change that! For this gameplay video, I'm attempting to play through the full game, land all tricks, and unlock every character and board!

Here's more information regarding 1080 Snowboarding, courtesy of Nintendo's official website:
"Prepare to experience the thrills and chills of the ultimate extreme sport in 1080° Snowboarding.
Whether you're sticking a Stalefish in the half pipe or a 720 Air in a raging blizzard, this Nintendo 64 classic offers one of the most accurate yet accessible snowboarding simulations around - all from the warmth of your living room!
The analogue Control Stick was one of the most striking innovations introduced by the Nintendo 64, and few games demonstrate its appeal as well as 1080° Snowboarding. The precise controls allow this game to highlight the depth and thrill of snowboarding on steep, dangerous slopes while allowing you to pull off grab and spin tricks with ease!
There are eight courses to master, with some modes dedicated to snowboard races, while other modes focus on performing impressive tricks, including the famous "1080°" spin.
Get ready to shred the slopes with 1080° Snowboarding!"

Thanks for bringing this gem back to the face of the internet. My siblings and I played this ALL the time when we were kids.
I'm glad to hear that this game helped create so many family-oriented memories. Thanks for the kind words, and thank you for watching! =)
A tip for anyone trying to do rotations, if you're doing a clockwise 🔁 rotation start your input from the bottom, if your doing a counterclockwise 🔄 rotation start your input from the top, it really helps
I didn’t know you could unlock back flips and front flips. As a kid I thought they weren’t in the game, so I would always try to jump off the biggest jump and hold the lean button to try and slowly rotate backwards or forwards lol
Ha ha, that’s a pretty amusing story! Yeah, flips exist in the game, but only the Panda Boarder can do them. And hey, I’m glad that I could showcase them to folks like you; prior to this video, I’ve never done every trick in the game either!
This game is so fucking good, I love it a lot and its sequel, 1080 Avalanche.
Favorite game when it first came out. My brother and I spent a night doing nothing but trying to get the highest score on the half pipe. Got pretty good at doing 1080's back then. Awesome game! I was disappointed when 1080 on the Gamecube made the tricks easier to perform. It took away the challenge of perfecting your high score.
6:17 Shaun Palmer's Pro Snowboarder mention?? :O I'm actually gonna be hosting a tournament for that game this year at magfest!
Side note: Loved watching you play this. I never grew up with this game but its always fun to experience a nostalgic game vicariously through someone that did!
Thank you very much for watching! Admittedly, this video here isn't exactly the best way to get to know the game, but I'm glad that you enjoyed it regardless!
And yeah, Shaun Palmer's Pro Snowboarder! I believe I became familiar with that game because of you, actually! Have fun with your MAGFest tournament! ;D
@@Yoshiller I'd be surprised if you heard about it elsewhere as it as I've never seen it talked about anywhere else and am the reason a small speed running community has been made for it.
If you ever did decide to play it, beware the the game is quite cryptic and is difficult enough that i'd be surprised if you managed to figure it out in 1 sitting
But otherwise, seeing games like 1080 are exactly the kind of thing that makes me consider getting the switch online expansion
it’s so amusing watching this and ur so hype! (u don’t need to do the panda tricks for the penguin, records are all time and trick 1st place plus contest all places.) also deadly fall was to have a night variant but i believe it was too laggy? serious props for doing the trick list proper and not glitching through it in two minutes with the trick glitch. i did the same thing a long time ago, wanted to complete some old n64 games. i kinda just got addicted to 1080 once i made my way to it
Not going to lie, the trick system in this game was horrible back then, and don't feel any better now. The input timing just doesn't make any sense. I more enjoyed games like SSX Tricky later on because that game's trick system was much smoother to play around with. The whole era where full control stick rotations were needed were just bad. The first Mario Party game, and its problems were another example.
Well it's not dissimilar to fighting game inputs like Zangiefs 360 grab from SF2 that btw still works in sf6, even with double rotations for the special version of that move so nah, it's not really that terrible tbh, it might be that you'd just needed more practice to get it right.
Like I get it, it's difficult but it's supposed to be. Landing a difficult trick IRL should be difficult, but rewarding, so why should it be any different in games? So geriatric dad gamers can enjoy it as well?
I could never nail the 1080 on the N64. It took me till the virtual consoles to pull it off. Granted I was a kid when I was playing the 64.
What?! I didn’t know this had back flips and front flips?! I remember trying to do a back flip off of the hut jump and rotating so damn slowly.
There’s still one final race after the gold racer: the panda in March mode is the final challenge that you left out of the 100% completion
From what I remember, panda is much harder than gold racer to beat
Woe! What? Where's that info at?
What controller did you use? I can't access c-up to get the gold boarder with my switch controller, even after holding zr
Nice work man keep it up 🙏🏻✊🏻
Nonchalantly doesn't mean what you think it does, you were looking for effortlessly
1080 was well before THPS
watched this video twice already...
you are levels above
Noice! Love this game
no love for airmake??
Air make sucks
i can’t remember if u we’re on the video-games-records high score site or game anyone LP site
