Awesome video. I'm stoked that you took the time to review this specific tent. I've deliberated over which tent to purchase, the Gamme 6 PC, Pomoly Dome x4, or the Luxe Hercules. I want it for solo winter camping (or with a friend), and an adventure tent for my family of four. Determining factors are space to move around comfortably, cost, and quality. Im pretty certain this is the tent. I hope to see more videos of you both operating inside and out of the tent. P.S. I love the part in your video where you show the glow of the fire burning in the stove--great work.
Thanks for the comments, so the video tomorrow is us back in the teardrop but next Thursdays (12/8) is all Hot tent and we slept in it and everything. I would say if you plan at all to have 3-4 of you then just get the 6 or 8, I almost think we could have gone with the 8. We are still figuring out how to set everything up inside etc. We do need to probably bring our smaller chairs and tables etc. We will be out all winter in it so stay tuned, heading to Minnesota or way up in Wisconsin or Michigan soon to really get into the winter camping. Appreciate the support, message me on FB or IG if you have any other questions about the tent. I will probably do an update on it maybe at the end of the month of Dec after we get several trips under our belt
Have you considered using a ice fishing hut? It is heavier because it is meant to be heavier duty, they are all pop up style, they are much more larger, more than tall enough to stand inside easily, usually window all sides, there are insulated models as well. For car camping use, bulk, weight shouldn't be a issue. How ever it is a meant for ice fishing, you would have to make your own stove jack but installing should be easy as all ice fishing huts as I have said before have removable windows on all sides or every other panel. People install stove jack with belcro and since stove itself won't be as centered like this Norten, it you get a fireproof? heat resistant? welding blacket to place it on the wall where the stove will be. Oh also, stove pipe will need to have a elbow. Yeah... many people are doing it this way, because some campers either already own one or one of the advantage is that it is much cheaper than, much larger & taller. I do have to say... I would really like to own a Gamme 6 (even as a single person use) but the price is so high and importing to North America has extra costs.

The tent looks great. I can tell how excited you are to try it in the winter. The welders blanket on the floor is a great idea. I'm doing the same. Prevents burns and helps prolong the life of the floor. Big thumb up. 👍

Now that I saw your video on the Gamme 6 pc, it is kind of tempting to go a bit smaller for minimal camping.. but I am one of those who loves to spend more time inside the tent so more space just makes it more cozy.. decisions decisions ! thanks for a great review guys!

Thanks for sharing this beutiful video of the Gamme 6 PC. As all of the Nortents i think it will be a great product of high quality. I would think it will suit both winter/summer camping/glamping. On those hot days it will be great to have that breatable Polycotton and double door, and in humid air like wintertime condensation will be minimal. Cannot wait to see more vids of the Gamme 6 PC. Pretty cool tent seems to be quite a bit of work setting it up though. Not trying to bust your chops but a Springbar Classic Jack 140 hot tent can be set up by one person in half the time it took y'all to set yours up and sells for maybe $100 - $200 cheaper and the floor is already sewn in. Springbar is an American company but the Classic Jack is made overseas. Springbar has an American made version the Skyliner hot tent but it's around 2K which I would gladly pay if I hot tented regularly. I have a 10 X 14 Springbar that's 30 + years old and still going strong. My son thinks he can make it into a hot tent with some minor modifications. Please don't hate me for commenting I do like Mexican food though!! 🤣😂🥃🥃
It actually goes up pretty quick now that we have done several times. I will have to take a look at the Spring bar if we ever decide to go bigger. No problem on the commenting lol, its always nice to learn about other alternatives and good products. Thanks again for the support
Looks like a very nice tent and will be interested in how it works for you guys. I have not done any hot tenting but do have a 4 season tent and can attest to what you say that they are not ideal at all for warmer weather, so it doesn't come out very often! I have never heard of these so thanks for the introduction.
@@Live2dayWanderland are some differences like little of both. Combine the features and have one heck of a tent. Pomoly does have stove ready floor which is nice don’t have to buy separate mat. Do like on nortent has zippers to the vent and clips instead of sleeves above doors for poles. Lot of nice features on both.
I would say 4 for sure possibly more, If we get out this week I will give you a more exact answer, I can set it up and lay out one of our pads. Its about 28" long, 14" tall and 17" wide, roughly, give or take a little depending on how tight you roll it up and cinch down the bag. We have the flooring , stakes, poles and everything in the bag. This tent presents a dilemma for me. On the one hand I ordered it in Gamme 8 PC a couple months back because I can't see how it's not the greatest tent that you can possibly buy. But on the other hand I think it's so awesome (and pricey) that I might decide to never ever use a stove in it because I cringe at the idea of the occasional hot ember falling on it. I mean it's absolutely worth considering for people who don't even hot tent, the stove capability can easily just be viewed as an option to be used or not used. So my dilemma isn't that there's any NEED to use the hot stove option, but just that it will be very tempting to use it. It'll be a battle between my OCD and the advantage of a stove lol.
Lol I sort of felt the same, it's so nice. I will say we extended our pipe 2 sections higher so hopefully the embers are not burning by the time they float back down
@@Live2dayWanderland yeah I have always heard that higher is better, but I was never sure if the reasoning was that the extra height makes it more possible that the embers would float away and miss the tent, or if embers cool significantly over a very short distance so that even a foot higher would lower ember temperatures by a decent amount, or a combination of those two reasons. I’ve asked a bunch of people but never got an answer. I suppose I could conduct my own experiment one day and try to catch embers with my bare hand at various distances, from an open fire pit lol.
@@joebuck4496 could always position a tarp over it if worried about burning holes in it. Also don’t stir up ashes and coils in the stove as this is major reason for get those embers flying around out of the pipe.
Didn't look into the RBG too much, we originally started looking at the Nortents a few years ago and I think the RBG just came along since then, pricing looks a bit higher than Nortent as well but I know the RBGs are good, seen a few other using them on youtube

@@TravisNewton1979 no not yet and it may be awhile for that, we are up in N. IL and winter is right around the corner. I have a feeling it might be pretty warm at those temps but I will test it out maybe by early spring, we usually do a trip South
Pulk Sled, Freight Toboggan, Jet Sled ...I made a Toboggan a few years back patterned after Black River Sleds and Lure of the North's Toboggans ...can pull 100s of pounds easily.

I think you will like the pomoly, the dome shapes are great and we might have gone with pomoly if they had theirs out back then. I love their stoves

Thankyou! hard to find reviews of this tent. How many large wide sleeping pads (25" x 78") do think would be comfortable with the stove cutout layout?

It is very breathable, does not hold water or stay wet.

Just curious if you looked at the RBM (Bereg) Up-2 or Up-5 tents prior to purchasing the Nortent. If so any reason why you went with the Nortent?
