There's actually a horror movie that's a collection of films like this. In fact! I actually saw this short film for the first time watching that collection.
I interpret this as the urge to rekindle a toxic relationship. He has a new girlfriend but he's sitting in the dark ruminating on the old one. We are shown Alexia's full name but not the new girlfriend's - she's secondary to his Alexia obsession. NGF is compassionate towards him but also frustrated because he struggles to move from this state of mind into a healthy acceptance that Alexia was manipulative and abusive - cutting her arms to make him feel guilty, then saying she loves him, etc. NGF also represents this acceptance. He sees the computer flickering and like most horror protagonists, knows he should resist the impulse to go back in there but does it anyway. His emotional ties to Alexia ultimately destroy his new relationship and process of moving on from the past.

This is some quality filmmaking right here. Inteligent screenwriting that makes use of clichés to subvert expectations together with intentional cinematography and thriling sound design makes this one of the best horror shorts on this whole site.

I could tell her to do the same to the fridge and washing machine, maybe wash the dishes while she rolls her eyes, I wouldn't mind... seriously, if I do hear noises through the house, I hope it washes the dishes before scaring me.
I could definitely use help like that with 4 kids and 3 grandchildren living with me!! however I just feel the price would be much higher than your average babysitter or housekeep.

Lo más terrorífico es que no hubiera nada en la escena del espejo. En un film de terror, que no haya absolutamente nada en el espejo es el evento más paranormal que pueda existir. PD: Buenísima producción te mandaste!
Yo creo que es para jugar con la imaginación del espectador. Es como cuando no exhibes al monstruo para que el espectador se lo imagine según lo que a él le de miedo.

don't be so sure, adapting a short film into a feature film requeries lots of changes, the adding of subplots, and lots of really complex screenplay practices. it doesn't guarantee a good movie.
This short has the best ghost design i have seen so far, it looks so weird and creepy, this short was definitely the best short featured in All Hallows Eve 2. Very well done!

One of the few films that recently made me exit full screen. The tension, the suspense, the storytelling! Brilliant piece, it's really difficult to portray a story concerning a digital world-it's much easier to tell, or write a story like this, because everyone imagines the "screen going crazy" in their own way scaring themselves, but you took your time to create the special effects, and the results are more than satisfactory. Such details, like the Facebook new message sound that is slowed down, making it more sinister. I do not mind the jumpscares, the aggressive music, the gore. It's all spot on. One of my favourites. PS. Facebook is overrated, anyway. :P
I watch horror flicks on a daily basis and this one is actually scary. well acted, music fits and no cheap obvious jump scares. will check out your other work.
Why am I not seeing this kind of quality in Hollywood movies nowadays? Simple storyline, relatable, atmospheric and less usage of jumpscares. A true remark of a no-plotholes and carefully-written plot. Hollywood should've hired someone like you and your crew.....

Un par de consejos Andrés, como fanático de terror. 1) Innecesario el screamer. Susto burdo y fácil, de los que arruinan la atmósfera de una escena que estaba aumentando la tensión. Corta totalmente el clima y repito, no creo que tenga ningún sentido. 2) No sé si es una crítica pero tomaste demasiado del video username666. Al límite del plagio. 3) La mano trepando el monitor, al igual que el pelo sobre la cara, ¿es necesario usar todos los clichés del cine asiático para asustar o generar suspenso? No sé, siento que vi la escena mil quinientas veces. Al margen de todo te deseo mucha suerte, tenés mucho potencial. Un abrazo.
Gracias! igual es facil decir si no se es director. los cliches en el terror abundan por todos los lados y el 90% de las veces son casi imposibles de esquivar. solo 1 vez por año o incluso muchisimo menos aparece algo que no tiene ningun cliche. y esto se debe a que un vez que te encontras en medio del tiroteo es muy dificil lograr eso. es facil decirlo desde afuera. Lo del user 666 puede ser. pero tampoco es un plagio. que la pantalla se corrompa se ha visto antes incluso en Ju-On the grudge en la escena del noticiero. igual si uno dirigie por supuesto que tiene que aprender a bancarse todo lo que digan los de afuera. es parte del juego. pero siempre es facil opinar un monton si nunca estuviste en el horno.

Un par de consejos Andrés, como fanático de terror.
1) Innecesario el screamer. Susto burdo y fácil, de los que arruinan la atmósfera de una escena que estaba aumentando la tensión. Corta totalmente el clima y repito, no creo que tenga ningún sentido.
2) No sé si es una crítica pero tomaste demasiado del video username666. Al límite del plagio.
3) La mano trepando el monitor, al igual que el pelo sobre la cara, ¿es necesario usar todos los clichés del cine asiático para asustar o generar suspenso? No sé, siento que vi la escena mil quinientas veces.
Al margen de todo te deseo mucha suerte, tenés mucho potencial. Un abrazo.
Gracias! igual es facil decir si no se es director. los cliches en el terror abundan por todos los lados y el 90% de las veces son casi imposibles de esquivar. solo 1 vez por año o incluso muchisimo menos aparece algo que no tiene ningun cliche. y esto se debe a que un vez que te encontras en medio del tiroteo es muy dificil lograr eso. es facil decirlo desde afuera. Lo del user 666 puede ser. pero tampoco es un plagio. que la pantalla se corrompa se ha visto antes incluso en Ju-On the grudge en la escena del noticiero.
igual si uno dirigie por supuesto que tiene que aprender a bancarse todo lo que digan los de afuera. es parte del juego. pero siempre es facil opinar un monton si nunca estuviste en el horno.
Yo no lo vi tanto como utilizar los cliches, sino como un homenaje al terror japones, y ademas como revivir ese terror que hoy esta tan bastardeado, porque aun cuando se espera lo que podia suceder es un corto que logro ponerme todos los pelos de punta en un momento y aflojarmelos en otro, tal cual sucede en todos los clasicos del terror. MUY BUENO andres borghi MAS ALLA DE LOS CLICHÉS EN LA HISTORIA LOGRO EMOCIONARME Y LLENARME DE SUSPENSO

son consejos interesantes estaria bueno ver nuevas formas de contar, pero está claro que el corto está apoyado en elementos clasicos del terror, y no busca otra cosa que ser efectivo, lo cual está logrado. y de entrada ya se nota que el corto no va a buscar algo nuevo, en todo caso, si es original en utilizar la tematica facebook para el argumento.
