Let’s make these parks/do x games in areas that need a really good skatepark, and that way a permanent park can be built and can be enjoyed post x games
It's a great idea, but it would limit x games park design in two ways: Firstly, x games use a rapid construction method that actually allows them to recycle the concrete between parks, so to build a permeant park of the same size would require more budget at a time when x games seems to have less and less budget. Secondly, park design for competition is different from public park design. In a public park the emphasis is on having multiple lines of one or two hits, both to avoid collisions and also to allow for more users in the same space. Competition park design, especially in something as progressive as x games, is aimed to include as many opportunities for different, creative lines both to challenge the riders, and to allow their individual styles to shine. So whilst it is a good idea in theory, in practice it's not going to happen, at the end of the day X games is there to make money.
johnny didnt do a 180 flair, sure. but why is a 180 flip using *only* transition being scored so high in a street competition? Johnny's moves were so tech and very much "street" in essence. there IS a park contest, I think. get casey starling to come do it off a curb. that would be street lol
We for real need Scotty doing this until he's an old man. I really hope him and xgames can come to an agreement every year or however they're contracting him.
The judges watched a different event or they just dont know anything about using pegs... Alex D. did many difficult combos and not even in the podium... Reynolds, Felix, Boyd did better, more risky runs too.
Felicidades a Kevin, su versatilidad lo ha llevado a ser campeón de varios circuitos y ahora es campeón en street también. ¡¡¡ Felicidades compatriota !!!
I think Kevin deserved the win based on his approach to the run, when you think about it he did more tricks in the run and they were all high level bangers. I'm a street rider and can see the view of people saying it should have been someone else. But Kevin had a solid run with good flow and more tricks, what else would you expect the judges to give gold?
I think Boyds had close to as much energy and flow. Yet he did harder tricks. No one else was doing that gap with a bar. Also the way I think about it is Garrett and boyd could do most tricks that Kevin did. I doubt Kevin could do half the tricks the others guys were doing.
@@coldworld5besides the flair on the volcano what else was specifically a park trick. Like he did a nose bonk 3 into a feebs easy 1. There was the switch whip drop, the big gap wall ride, nose to bar, nose 3. To me none of those are specifically park tricks
why is gold medal in street given for a flair over a jump box lol. stop inviting park riders and making quarters and jumps on a street course such a joke
Jump box? It’s barely a kicker, on an angle, with a sign directly in the middle. He sent it to flat, landing fakie. How more street does it get. Just cause he didn’t do a smith nose bar. He crammed in more than anyone else. It’s a contest and he blew it away. Donnachie should have placed higher but it was pretty well judged.
@@johnmurray3346 personally i dont agree but it doesnt matter. the course is meant to be a street course but it is littered with big quarters and mini jump boxes.
@@Sharpened_Spoon its a mini jump box. find me those perfect 7 foot quarters with coping and jump transitions in street parts. a flair from transition to transition is the only thing he done that was worthy of gold it it shouldnt be possible in street. what if gerrett was invited to park and only hit the rail and sent all the quarters to flat?
Hilder's run should've taken it. Highest risks taken and he put a full run together. I love kevin and garrett but they didn't go for broke like he did.
Although I don’t think Kevin had the best run he did keep it very street don’t know wht anyone is complaining tht he was too park when he most definitely didn’t do tht much park stuff except for going big on his trucks the flair was j a big flip off a lil transition so congrats to him
I greatly admire everyone who participated, but in my opinion I repeat my opinion, it was a street tournament where the judges were two professionals in the park, how can they be judges in a street tournament, Kevin is great, his way of riding the bike is incredible, but I saw more of a park rider, than perhaps a person who has given his life to street BMX, but hey, you know nowadays everything is for his own benefit I REPEAT IT IS MY OPINION
@@tacoridesbikes It’s not Kevin’s fault they had park like elements with this course. Kevin has done flair fakies on the streets in plenty of his edits. Street doesn’t have to be limited to Jibbing and barspinning every possible obstacle.
Salty boys in the comments. Periza did all street tricks. And crushed it. Also a flair to flat obviously isnt a park trick because if you did it off a box jump lip you would break your ankles. Jus5 because he knows how to flow and keep speed doesnt make him bad at street. Open your eyes. Nosey to 180 down the ledge kicker thing was cracked.
Yea I’m kinda with you on this. And I ride street in nyc too. But kp had more speed amplitude flow better course usage and more hits in his run. Only park trick is a flair on a small and long volcano. Was his run as hard as some other guys maybe not but the win or at least a podium was deserved.
@@HallucinatingHedgehogs street guys have been doing flairs in street contests for years too, but when a guy does it over something, people lose their minds? silly
Good podium judging, thought everyone could have scored higher though. Raekes coming in with a perfect run good tricks and only hitting a 77.00 isn’t very motivating for anyone. Tough crowd. Likewise podium should have been in the 90s. Everyone rode good
Even though I’m pretty happy with the results, I really don’t see why the judges should have to produce a score so fast. Just have a big digital leader board and update when they have processed the riders run properly🤷🏻♂️
