@wms54 thanks; I see I see. but were they holding the bayonet chest high, or at waist level, or a different way? again, my vision is not that good (even with glasses) :(
1759 Battle of Minden one of the 1st Bn Royal Anglian Regts most prestigious battle honours STABILIS -STEADY still celebrated yearly on the 1st of August
if I may ask @ 7:08 my vision is not that good, and the distance to camera was clearly pretty far, but do you remember how these men (white with blue uniforms) were holding the bayonet? if able to respond, German is just fine.
@Albukhshi Ok, I checked that. The men at 7:08 are coming from the right, si I thing they belong to the french army and the saxons perhaps it is the Infanterie-Regiment Prinz Johann Adolf von Sachsen-Gotha
I'm not totaly sure, which men do you mean? If you mean those are marching in at 2:37? Those are the prussian grenadiers. Please compare this picture on wikipedia commons Hohenfriedeberg.Attack.of.Prussian.Infantry.1745.jpg
Home County regiments? I think the KOYLI, Lacashire Fusiliers, Royal Welch Fusiliers, and King's Own Scottish Borderers would have something to say about that! I have no idea why the re-enactment shows Highlanders - there weren't any there!

Predominantly home county Regiments stood firm and broke 3 successive waves of France's best cavalry (including the Gendarme de France, sp?).
