In response to the denial of Kurdish identity and oppression the PKK formed. They fought the Turkish military so in response the Turks burned down 5000+ Kurdish villages in SE Turkey as most Kurds supported the PKK and saw them as freedom fighters for our people. For those who claim it's one-sided: that's true. Just like there' re one-sided pro pkk documentaries. It's sad how in the past Kurdish language etc. was forbidden and I'm glad that a lot has improved by then. I believe Kurdish has to become a language that people can learn in high schools and universities (if it isn't available already). Also, to integrate villages that are mostly inhabited by Kurdish people it's important to improve infrastructure and give Kurdish AND Turkish lessons so that people can speak Turkish as well in that region. And lastly, respect, empathy and understanding for everyone regardless of race, ethnicity, religion etc. The last one is very difficult as there are political figures and mainstream media that try to set people up against each other.

For those who claim it's one-sided: that's true. Just like there' re one-sided pro pkk documentaries. It's sad how in the past Kurdish language etc. was forbidden and I'm glad that a lot has improved by then. I believe Kurdish has to become a language that people can learn in high schools and universities (if it isn't available already). Also, to integrate villages that are mostly inhabited by Kurdish people it's important to improve infrastructure and give Kurdish AND Turkish lessons so that people can speak Turkish as well in that region. And lastly, respect, empathy and understanding for everyone regardless of race, ethnicity, religion etc. The last one is very difficult as there are political figures and mainstream media that try to set people up against each other.
