  • This was my first proper “good go” at filming on the Talyllyn Railway, and apart from the short section between Tywyn Wharfe and Pendre I walked the full length of the railway over the weekend. I stayed over at the Dolgoch Falls Hotel. Very good! As far as the weather was concerned the third day of the event was the best.

Great video and really nice camera shots! Could you imagine doing this with the nearby Corris Railway too? It isn't as long but it does have a steam locomotive ;)

This visit in 2016 was my first ever “good go” at the TR. What I mean by that is I walked virtually the full length of the line filming as I went. The section I couldn’t really do was Tywyn Wharf to Pendre because it’s in a cutting and not very accessible. This video is my most popular.

You might have a chance at 'Talyllyn Lake' which is around 4km from the top Station Nant Gwernol. Although, I would check with the local authorities first if fishing is allowed there ;)

A highlight of my summer holiday, aged 8, in 1952 was a trip on this line. I think it was just their second season. I loved it for its small scale and it’s quaint engine. Of course, all the railways were steam then.
