    Dude the blue wire of the antena you got to conect to red positive or you dont get radio stations. did you remove the clips from the old radio unit and plug them on the new one?

    • @ModFix
      @ModFix  Год назад

      I've got radio stations okay mate. I thought the blue was for electric aerials. What clips do you mean?

    • @GeesDrive
      @GeesDrive 26 дней назад +1

      I was wondering the same about the blue 'power antenna' wire on the connects2 aerial adaptor. I've read that it can either be for a power antenna or aerial amplifier to boost the signal. Sounds like the standard (non DAB) radio works fine without connecting it to anything. I'm about to venture into the install of the same head unit, thanks for the video @ModFix 👍

    • @ModFix
      @ModFix  26 дней назад

      Thanks mate 👍 hope it goes well 👍 I never use the regular radio so can't vouch for how good the signal is. The rest is all good though 👍

      @GeesDrive 26 дней назад +1

      @@ModFix Thanks mate, I might test it with and without connecting it to the power antenna and see if there is a difference. My OCD will take over if it doesn't work 😅

    • @GeesDrive
      @GeesDrive 21 день назад +1

      I found out from the team at Connects2, that the blue wire on the aerial adaptor needs a power connection and on this Kenwood unit, the ISO lower block (block A) the power antennae sits on pin 5 which is the middle one, top row on the bottom ISO block (shown in the Kenwood manual). I just bought a ISO connector pin and crimped it to the blue wire and fits into the Connects2 ISO block.
      I gather the Civic has a powered radio amplifier so it's the likely culprit if anyone else has terrible FM signal. All that for radio when it has DAB anyway :)

    Great video! Thanks. Do you have to use the DAB aerial or will it work without that, just not digital as it connects to the cars aerial?

    • @ModFix
      @ModFix  23 дня назад

      Thanks 👍 Yeah I think so. I can't say I've ever tried the regular radio on it. I'm pretty sure you plug in the standard aerial. I can't quite remember.

    Did you have to buy the x4 bolts that hold the stereo to the new brackets? I don't seem to have them with my kenwood nor are they in the Connects2 kit.

      @@ModFix Fitted mine today. It's a Kenwood as well but a different model to yours I think. So far it all turns on but the controls on the steering don't work for me. Double checked the instructions and it should be right so I'll have to email them about it. Only kind of complaint is the plastic brackets could do with some strip of metal by the screws to make it more sturdy maybe as if you tighten them to much they start going through the plastic.

      So you just need to run that yellow wire for power from the battery then plug in that red cable at the back of the pioneer radio and ground it to a bolt and that’s it? I upgraded headunit to pioneer, got mini vibe 65.4 amplifier that you can hide behind the unit upgraded front speakers to components with crossovers and back speakers to coaxial speakers last step is to add the sub
