- All the weapons and gadget animations from the original PlayStation 2 game.
The game was rendered in 5K (4:3), the video was recorded in 4K, and the final product was the size of the small monitor of the pause menu (1320x1160)

The passion that went into these games is just unmatched.
Yeah, games back then had a lot of passion put into them, although people like to argue that even the early to mid 2000's had less passion than the 90s when it comes to games.
Fun fact: at 5:00 if you take off Ratchets O2 mask immediately, you can see his facial expressions while hes breathing and laughing.

Loved watching these as a kid! They added so much personality
I feel stupid, but only last year I realised that the reason why Ratchet from Ratchet & Clank 1 feels so different even when he doesn't talk, is that his ears droop down 99% of the time.
That he’s wearing a shirt. While OG Ratchet don’t need a shirt to travel the Galaxy and blast murder bots with a crazy amount of weapons
Loved these. I think these animations would've given even more personality to Ratchet in-game if he was standing still with a weapon or gadget.
Oh damn, that's an idea! I think these animations fit more for menus, but it's an intriguing idea for sure.
They should have done this for every game
3:13 Now *this* is what defined the entire Ratchet and Clank franchise as a whole.
What i liked about the first game was the feeling of having a collection of mismatching gadgets from everywhere. Nothing felt connected, but in a fun way. Its just like real life whre we have collections of stuff which might look entirely different.

Going from the spin in the Mine Glove to the Walloper is like he whips out the dukes before you know it
And my friend and I found a glitch were equipping and unequipping the Magneboots makes him stuck to the floor in his bare feet. XD
I always like how the animation are like in RAC PS2

No, Ratchet just really likes the helmet lol
upon seeing it: "[...] I have GOT to get me one of those!"
on getting it: "Now THIS, is COOL!"
and to think, people WONDER AND ARE ACTIVELY CONFUSED when I say PS2 ratchet is superior and the HD transition has never been the same
The HD games are great (mostly), but yeah, they just don’t have that same aesthetic, ya know?

I never realized that he didn't actually hold the Hologuise properly, but the animations are cute and funny and zany and I love them. x3

It's odd how the Tesla Claw has the animation that transitions into the animation Ratchet plays for weapons too heavy to conveniently carry in one hand but goes into the animations weapons like the Blaster and Bomb Glove use and how the Visibomb gun has the animations for the Blaster and Bomb glove after it's initial animation even though the gun is clearly meant to be a 2-handed weapon. Maybe the Visibomb gun is lighter than it looks and there wasn't enough time to re-animate the Tesla Claw's animation? Though one thing that makes no sense is that Ratchet uses the heavy weapon animation for the metal detector which judging by it's looks is not heavy enough to warrant being unable to carry conveniently in 1 hand.

To remember:
Ratchet makes a evil face when you get Pyrocitor or Devastator in-game.
Unsure if is the same thing for R.Y.N.O.
Never realised how R.Y.N.O is big.
It is basically Ratchet's size upstanding, which is canonically 5 feet.
And by the 5 feet, i've came to realise that ratchet has half of Skid's height, therefore Skid McMarx has like 3 meters.
I have the R.Y.N.O in-game and I can confirm he indeed does make the evil face when he equips it. XD Just like the Pyrocitor and Devastator. I think he mostly does it when you equip the more dangerous weapons like those 3.
Noticed it was alot of similar animations for them, but besides that
Ratchet was Vibing with the Spikeball animation feeling smug
and having fun with the magne boots

Man... i am a big fan of the franchise... sadly i will never have the chance to play the 2016 remake or even Rift Apart... I could play both PS2 and PS3 era including the spinoffs... Going back to the video itself, the animations that Ratchet make for weapons and gadgets always make me laugh hard!!! ahhhhhhh... the nostalgia....
