    It was Harlow that brought me to your daily vlogs. The video of Harlow bringing you Ranch dressing when you sent her for water made me laugh so much. She's still a hoot lol. I really love how she's so intune with you. She loves you and Judd so much. And she's very smart. I'm so glad you have made a decision for your J tube surgery. The less stress in your young life that better. Love your mom so much! Always glad to see her in the vlog.

    My dogs are both rescues who were abused and strays so they often react badly to other dogs. But we need to take them out and try and have them socialize with other dogs. Obviously we never put other dogs or people in danger! But I totally understand why people think we don’t care about their training. But props to Harlow for ignoring the dog! 👍

    My mom had an LVAD (youtube should have some sources to see the noises it makes) and it would make so much noise even while not out of batteries... she'd get people whispering behind her back, yelling at her for having a cellphone in a movie theater, etc.My Grandma snapped at that person and said "IT KEEPS HER HEART PUMPING, YOU ASS." They got quiet awfully quick...

    Glad you give dog owners the benefit of the doubt! My dog is leash-reactive, where he tenses up and will bark and lunge if the other dog stares back. He loves some dogs, though. I am very alert to other dogs being nearby and would definitely run from a service dog ;), but sometimes I need to have him in a more stressful situation and just work on our counter-conditioning.

    It's AWESOME to see you have such a great relationship with your mom. During most of my life, my mom and I didn't get along AT ALL! Over the past 17 years, our love and friendship has grown and blossomed. I know it has been 17 years because that's when I became a Christian. You and your mom seem just as close. God bless you and your family. I'm praying that you and your loved ones have a BEAUTIFUL and BLESSED CHRISTMAS! LOVE and PRAYERS

    Don't know if you've seen my previous comments so just wanted to mention again about pain management after this type of surgery. I've had this done 4 times and works well for me. Before I leave the OR the anesthesiologist will place a pain block, like they do for c sections, and instead of removing the needles they connect it to an elastic pump that can continue to release whichever anesthetic they chose. It lasts me about 3 days, sometimes they'll replace them and I get a little longer. When they're empty we just pull them ourselves as it's not much different than a long iv. Obviously this isn't right for everyone but I went through my first surgery without them because I didn't know about the option so wanted to make sure you knew. It's a big win for me since it means I can take little to no narcotic pain meds.
    Your story about the pump is too funny! Reminds me of my own similar experiences lol! The worst for me so far has been in the middle of church, it was on the back of my wheelchair and my sister couldn't get it to turn off, I think my sister and I were both red as tomatoes lol!😂😂😂

    I appreciate you not immediately hating on the dog outside. Yes there are plenty of bad owners out there, but there are also those of us who adopt/rescue some dogs who just don't have the same baseline of manners. The only way to help relieve that is to be outside and around people and other pets. If they just let the dog bark and be aggressive without interference then yeah. It's probably their fault. (Which can be lack of experience as well as just overall neglect) But I have had some people say some very rude things to me in regards to my nervous/dog aggressive rescue. It took a couple years to get her to a point of being comfortable in public to be the lovely pleasant girl she was at home with us and our other dogs.

    Just interrupted your Vlog , to let you know that I have 2 Goldies, and Zora (12 1/2 years old) always 'rescues' soft toys that she can reach from the Christmas tree in our 'communal inner yard'😂
    No, we're not a Commune, but have our own flats, built around an inner yard, with a glass roof! A place to communicate!
    One of only 3 such places built in Berlin, 25 years ago! And the flats are rented, and all neighbours are 'older Goldie friends'😊😀

    Just because a dog lunges and barks doesn’t mean it’s aggressive, often times it’s just an over excited dog who wants to play and it’s use to the typical sit down setting not being able to greet a friend. I’ve had dogs bark and pull/lung towards my dog and I but they only wanted to play.

    Hahaha! Twice! Twice in the same video Harlow grabbed that reindeer! Omg I love her so much! I can't believe she stole it off the shelf and she knew she wasn't supposed to have it. Harlow you crack me up. After a very very long day of medical test (it was a tilt table test to check for dizziness/lightheadedness, I did get light headed a few times and dizzy once. My blood pressure and heart rate were through the roof to the point that my mom told me to lay down before the next appointment when we got home. She was worried), needle pokes (3 to be exact, one vein blew so now my hand is bruised the joys of having horrible veins 😭😾) and a doctor's appointment (which went well got put on steroids again for this damn itchy skin. If it comes back going to have to go back to the allergist and maybe get another allergy test done. Thank goodness it's the same doctor I see for my immune deficiency and asthma) I needed a laugh. Hippo always makes me laugh! She's so cute I think I would cry if I ever saw her and J&J (what I call Jaquie and Judd) in real life but I live all the way in Ohio. I'm rambling sorry. Comment done. 💜

  • @alliewilson1907

    Jaquie! I would wear gloves when prepping Harlow's raw meals after your MRSA treatment. Raw meat is often contaminated with it. I am a microbiologist and at first I saw a comment that mentioned it and thought it was silly but I did some research and it is true, and makes sense and with your weak immune system and pretty constant exposure to antibiotics, you are very likely to get skin infections from it.

    • @Zoawesomeshowjumper
      @Zoawesomeshowjumper 6 лет назад

      Jacquie don't believe this

    • @alliewilson1907
      @alliewilson1907 6 лет назад

      MRSA is methicillin resistant Staphylococcus aureus, a strain of Staph aureus that is resistant to the antibiotic methicillin. S. aureus is a common skin flora on most mammals, meaning it naturally lives on your skin, most of the time not doing any harm. If it gets into a cut it can cause an infected wound, if it's transferred from your hands to foods it can release endotoxins that cause food poisoning, but not all strains are antibiotic resistant. Considering the fact that the animals raised for our meat are usually treated with antibiotics, it makes sense that their normal skin flora would be a resistant strain. When they are butchered, this bacteria can get in the meat. Once cooked it often becomes inert but if you are handling the meat without gloves there is a very good chance you'll be exposed to the bacteria. It is also proven that the more frequently a person has to take antibiotics increases their chances of ending up with resistant strains of normal skin flora, ie MRSA. Doing a minimal amount of research will verify all these points.

    I have a toy poodle. He has social anxiety issues. He isn't aggressive but he is still obnoxious. I don't take make others have to put up with his drama. The only exception is if we are traveling. We go camping once a year, but we still keep him with us. But I would NEVER take him to a restaurant or a big public area because he might get spooked and be obnoxious.

    Harlow did amazing with that dog. We have been attacked so many times by other peoples dogs its crazy. The worst was 2 Shephards went afyer my 13 year old shepard and a bulldog was attacking me while i was trying to save my little guy. Someone had to throw a rock at him to get him to stop. I got bite, but my little guy was traumatized and to this day, after so many attacks, he hates other dogs when we walk. Now i carry mace with me. Twice dogs have run out their front door and tried to attack us. Cudos for Harlow.

    Jacquie did you see the ‘Gastroparesis Pie In The Face’ challenge to spread awareness about Gastroparesis? A 20 year old guy from Boston who has GP started it, his name is Andrew Belliveau. I saw it on Inside Edition. You should do it too!
    As always I am wishing you well! 💖

    I like watching your vlogs but we rescued a puppy that was very sick and part of it is socializing the pup. It's not easy, so please keep that in mind.

    I agree with you. Way to go Harlow. I think if there gonna bring there dog they should keep it by them away from the door and on a leash if they no it will bite they need to leave it at home

    Does the tape on your ports ever irritate your skin? I am allergic to most adhesives so it causes me some problems. Glad you finally decided to get your tubes sorted out.

    She probably claimed the reindeer XD my dog actually asked for a toy with her eyes lol! We were gonna have a yard sale and we had a pile of junk by our door. I was playing with her and she started digging in a box. I told her to leave it and grab one of her toys, then pointed to her toy box. She sat on the floor and looked at this bear on top of the pile and looked at me. I told her to get a toy but she kept looking at the bear and me. So I told her ok she could have it and she actually reached up (it wasn't a big pile lol) grabbed it and ran away to go play with it XD she even sleeps with it sometimes! I keep it out so she knows where it is. It's so cute XD

    my SD would never react either but about a month ago I was with my service dog at a mall where they do allow pets and there was a guy with a Rottweiler-ish dog and the minute he saw us he went crazy and attack my SD and by the time the guy managed to contain the dog, he was already injured ..my dog was bleeding,I was crying and he literally couldn't care less!fortunatelly there weren't any serious injuries but since that day whenever another dog starts being slightly agresive towards my SD he's so scared that he can no longer ignore like he's trained to do and sometimes he even barks back...I honestly don't know what to do..does anyone have any advice ?

      I am so sorry about your situation! I would honestly consult a behaviorist, that is the very first thing I would do if it happened to Harlow. I would also look into dog classes, not for the training aspect, but so you are in a controlled environment with other dogs. Your SD will learn to focus around other dogs again. The BAT technique is also very good for reactivity, and it is force free. (: Here is a link with more info: grishastewart.com/bat101/?s2-ssl=yes
      Your dog's reactions are totally warranted after what happened. Don't think you did or are doing anything wrong! Now you just have to focus on re-training in a positive way. I have seen SD's come back very well from attacks, it just takes time, consistency and patience.
      This is why I think aggressive dogs could use a bit more training before being taken out into public settings like this... Someone could (and did) get hurt. :( I am sure that was NOT the intention, but still. It is important to be responsible owners.

      Chronically Jaquie thank you so much, this is really helpful..I don't think there are any dog classes of any kind where I live(which is Greece by the way) but I will defenatelly search online..you really are an inspiration and your videos really make a difference .. :)

    Check your cleaning products and make sure that the cleaning product kills MRSA. Hibiclens is what I had to do and the cream.

    Hi Jaquie, I also have chronic pain and had to have an ERCP yesterday. I asked them about ketamine because the usual anesthesia makes me extremely nauseous/vomiting. She told me that ketamine is worse for nausea/vomiting but great for resetting your pain centers. I was just wondering if you experience nausea/vomiting with ketamine? Loved watching Harlow thinking the reindeer was "his", So cute! Merry Christmas and best of luck with your surgery!

      I get really sick with Propofol (what they usually use), but never with Ketamine. However, I am given IV Zofran before I wake up so maybe that helps!

    • @Lolliandpops18
      @Lolliandpops18 6 лет назад +1

      Chronically Jaquie That's great! They give me all the stuff to prevent nausea with the propofol so I'm wondering if I'm like you . Definitely thinking about trying it if and when I need my next procedure. Thanks!

    I had a question for you about the backpack I ordered one using your code I can’t wait for it to come and was wondering if you could show a video or via message me how you use it for both tube feeds and infusions. I’m on tpn and going to start tube feeds. I know you got it tailored for you so any possible way to show it because I don’t want to mess it up because it’s a really nice backpack.
