Just as Tibetan scripture writings and language have big differences and so is also true in English prose and talkings too. On the other hand Tibetan common language is so fluent and flexible like English

sir.. a quick question as I prepare to learn Tibetan... the Google translate has no Tibetan.. Nepali appears to be the closest.. is this the correct path?

some months later.. thanks for sharing your amazing wisdom and abilities with language, sir... still working on this.. I listen closely and some of my teachers speak English and write Tibetan.. it's a very good way to learn the language and especially a different approach to writing language...

Bing translate is starting to have the beginnings of a decent Tibetan translation tool. But for now, the closest you might find to something useful is probably still the THL translation tool, plus Christian Steinert, if you're looking for online tools to help you. The Bing translation tool has a difficult time with proper names, but you might have some success with simple phrases.
