as a musician i kinda feel pain for lily because toast be tone deaf for some parts of this (probably mostly as a joke but still)
Ik ur joking too but I think he just has trouble anchoring himself to a key and sticking with it so he guesses blindly and occasionally gets it right (+is trolling) AND also goes off key when he know he can't sing the higher notes. I figured during music that my classmate was not tone deaf but had a really hard time figuring out how to make the notes he was hearing, probably because he doesn't sing a lot. It was weird because he could not tell whether to go higher or lower unless I told him, but had no trouble singing in key once we settled on it. Pitch perception is strange. I wonder how it's like to be tone deaf for real
@@hyukleberry5567 the only people that are actually tone deaf, are people that suffer from amusic. They cannot distinguish tones at all. So, they don't hear melody or harmony, tend to find music anoying, and even struggle with inflection, so tonal languages are a real struggle, and singing in tune is as good as impossible, and not enjoyable.
Most people that we call "tone deaf" just have really poor musical hearing. I'm such an example. I struggle to copy notes and intervals, and can barley hear the difference between ascending and decending pitch if it's only a half step or two. Couple that with poor breath control and i'm sure you can imagine what that would sound like. I'm working on it though.

As a musician you should know that not everyone is tone deaf just because they cannot sing the right notes. A lot of people are just untrained. Calling people tone deaf usually keeps them from trying to improve cuz tone deaf is usually a thing you can't improve much. 😅 Choosing words wisely should be more common lol

My best friend is tone deaf and when we go to shows together it's always hard to keep in pitch singing next to him, mostly because I can't stop laughing (it sounds a lot like Toast from 2:45-3:20 lol) but I love my buddy regardless, because he's a great dude and we've been best friends for almost 20 years at this point, I've figured out how to block his vocals out by now
