Licensed in 1996 by the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission (CRTC), the English language channel launched on October 17, 1997. It was originally owned by a consortium made up of various other Canadian specialty services and producers; The Family Channel Inc. acting as managing partner at 53.3% (Astral Media & WIC), YTV Canada Inc. at 26.7% (Shaw Communications), Cinar and Nelvana with 10% each. Through various acquisitions over the years, ownership resulted in both Astral Media and Corus Entertainment owning a 50% stake in the service during the time frame. Currently, Teletoon is wholly owned by Corus Entertainment since January 1, 2014. Starting in 2018, the production logos seemed to have been phased out in favor of the Corus logo, alongside the removal of the YTV, Treehouse, and Global logos.

I watched Teletoon from 2003 to 2012. I didn’t catch up the storylines so well at first because my English was poor due to recent immigration to Canada from Korea at that time in 2003. But it was totally worth watching and enjoyable. I’ll never forget you Teletoon! You made my childhood very memorable!

I remember always waking up at 7 am during summer break just to watch my favourite show, while my « lazy » family are still sleeping, bringing my cereal to the living room so I can binge watching daily ❤ especially I still remember that time when Lego ninjago was still on air for 8 episodes straight
JontyMaster I think Teletoon lost its identity in 2018. Teletoon is still going since 1997.

When I think of Teletoon, I think of Canada, in turn, I think of Caillou. Funny enough considering that Caillou originally premiered on Teletoon
I personally think of Total Drama and Bakugan.

The 2001 Teletoon Logo Also Appeared On The Backyardigans, Until 2007 When It Was Replaced By The Treehouse Logo.
Neither of those logos ever appeared on the series; the ending logos were always from Nick Jr (1999 logo in Season 1, 2005 logo in all later seasons) and Nelvana
